Sitting outside underneath of a cherry blossom tree next to his mansion, Kanth sighed as he 'played' with the sleeping Erae, wondering why he chose now, of all times, to hibernate. He understood that all normal skunks hibernated in the winter months, but Erae had been awake when the snow fell, and now in the late months of winter, he just... dropped, sleeping.
Of course, the points that led up to that made sense - the mansion, and ... come to think about it, Erae did sleep a little bit in Adrian's temporary fishing shack, and was out for quite a little while.
Of course. Erae still slept and tried to keep up with others, but failed a bit. Kanth sighed. Why hadn't he seen it before? It was all so clear. Almost like a DUH factor.
"Sorry, Erae." He murmured softly. "I wish I could wake you somehow, because all skunks are supposed to wake when the winter months end, but I suppose that you really haven't been sleeping, now have you."
Another sigh escaped from his lips, and Kanth took a moment to brush back his fire-red hair with his agile fingers.

Jynk chased after the winged rabbit, grumbling about how she was so locking him in a cage when they get home. Sure, tromping through the underbrush seemed like great fun to Rycroft, but his caretaker could do without it. She'd only looked away for a moment while checking a wheel on the vardo and--woosh!--the rabbit had taken off. If bunnies could giggle, Rycroft would be rolling with laughter.
She burst into what appeared to a clearing at first. Stopping to catch her breath, she looked around, noticing that it was actually just the end of the wooded area she'd been travelling through. She saw Rycroft in the distance, heading right for a huge house. Sighing, she took up the chase. The place looked expensive and she really didn't need to deal with fire insurance claims today.

Glancing up from 'playing' with Erae, Kanth set him on his lap and saw the bunny fly into the yard, with an owner chasing after it. "How strange... she looks like a velvet owner, but I can't really tell. Was there a demon rabbit? I can't remember." Running his fingers down Erae's back, Kanth watched.
She looked rather distressed, really.

"Come back here!" Jynk yelled after Rycroft. She was sure she'd seen someone sitting in the yard. Great, they were probably going to call the cops or something for tresspassing and violating leash laws.
Rycroft glanced back at Jynk when she called to him and grinned like...well, a bunny. He turned back in time to smack headfirst into a tree. He hung there a moment, flapping his wings, for his horns had become stuck from the impact. Grumbling in frustration, he propped his paws against the tree and pushed, trying to free himself. Hell with this. The bark started to smolder a bit, heating up.
Jynk caught up to the rabbit and looked at him, blinking. "You got your head stuck." Isn't she the observant one? Noticing the tree was starting to smoke, she quickly caught hold of the rabbit and managed to get him free. "Hey, doofus, you're not flame-proof. I don't want a roast bunny for a pet." She glanced over at the young man sitting on the ground. "And I don't think that guy wants his grove burned down." She gave a comically wide sheepish grin and waved with her free hand, her other arm holding tightly onto Rycroft. "Hiiiii! Sorry we barged in like this. The bunny got loose." She started edging back toward the woods. "We'll just be going now. Heh."

Giving a lopsided grin, Kanth stood up and put Erae on his shoulder, before pressing his hand to the tree and 'healing' it, reverting it back to what it was.
"No damage done. He seems a bit out of control. What kind of rabbit is that?" He asked softly, glancing to Erae for a brief moment in an afterthought.

Jynk stopped edging away. "Um..." She looked down at Rycroft. "He's a devil bunny. He's not really out of control. He just likes to have fun and sometimes gets into things." She looked back up, noticing the furry skunk-like child. "I'm sorry if we bothered you and your oddly hairy son."
Rycroft squirmed and flapped his wings. Must..be..free! There was so much to get into..and possibly break here. He wriggled around, then finally gave up, pouting in Jynk's arms. Just you wait, demoness. You sheets are so burned tonight. Firey vengance would be his. Just as soon as he figured out how to get free again. He looked up at Erae. Oh, hey, another Velvet. Right on. He'd help Rycroft get free and they'd wreck havoc upon all the land...or well, Rycroft would. The skunk seemed rather lethargic. Ah, well. More destruction for Rycroft, then.

Kanth sputtered, then burst out laughing. "Sorry... Erae isn't my son. He's my velvet." Though... he could be considered a son. Kanth hadn't really thought about it before.
"So your bunny's a pyromaniac? Interesting. He seems like he's a velvet as well."

"Yeah, Rycroft's a Velvet, too." She patted the pouting bunny on the head, ignoring the swatting paws. "He's not a pyromaniac. He's just really...he's nuts." She grinned affectionately at the glaring rabbit, then looked at Erae. "Is your Velvet sick?"
Rcroft grumbled at being petted. This sucked. He wanted to play and possibly cause a little property damage. Oh, but, no. He was being held captive, doomed to be pampered and loved on. Yuck. He needed freedom. He needed adventure. He probably needed to cut back on the caffiene and sugar.

"He's not sick. He's hibernating." Patting Erae on the head affectionately, Kanth smiled. "Would you like to come inside for a cup of tea or anything? I have a battle room where you can put your velvet so he won't do hardly any damage." Outstretching his hand, he offered her visibly that she was welcome if she so wished.

"Tea would be nice," Jynk said, nodding. "We must've travelled back further than I thought. I didn't know there was a mansion back here. Funny the coincidence of running into another Velvet owner, though." She followed after Kanth. "My name's Jynk, by the way."
Rycroft perked up at the mention of a battle room. That showed some promise. Maybe it was like the Danger Room at the X Mansion. He'd be like Wolverine--snikt-snikt-snikt!--only short, with wings, and less attitude. So, really not all like Wolverine at all. He'd still be pretty badass, though. He twitched an ear at Kanth. Funny, he didn't look like a mutant.

Kanth gave Rycroft a brief glance before leading the way inside, with a smile. "I'm Kanth, and this is Erae. And your velvet is Rycroft, I assume, as you were calling him before?" Kanth was a sharp one, though was more than he let on.
Walking into the house, Kanth turned to face Jynk. "Would you like tea first, or the battle room? If you want, we can have tea in the battle room," He suggested.

"Oh, yeah," Jynk replied, realizing she hadn't introduced her rabbit. "His name's Rycroft." She looked down at the wriggling bunny. "Maybe tea in the battle room would be best."

"Very well." Kanth disappeared into the kitchen for a moment before whisking away upstairs, motioning for Jynk to follow him. He carried two full teacups in one hand (Lord knows HOW he did it with saucers), and led the way to the battle room, opening the door with a wave of his hand.
"Simple house magic is very efficient." Nodding to himself, Kanth walked into the battle room, expecting Jynk to follow.
Inside, it was very roomy, and the atmosphere was perfect for battling. In one corner it was rocky, and in another, grassy, and the side they were on was flat and plain; perfect for starting out on. Weapons were lined up behind them, and there was an assorted variety.
"This is where Erae and I usually train. Rycroft can pick any weapon up there. I can run the battle sequence too, if he'd like." Moving one teacup and saucer to one hand (which was a very pretty sapphire), he held it out for Jynk.
"This one's Chai. The other is Spice. Do you care which one?"
