Anyway, in MS you buy something called NX you don't need it to play the game, but with it you can go into a trading system that you can purchase in-game items with your NX. Items you can actually use for combat, such as weapons, armor, etc., etc. Anyway besides for that you can actually buy in-game currency during holidays. Then there's stuff like buying different HAIR and EYES (costs about $5 to do each, yeah a rip off) even to get a store to sell things in the marketplace AFK costs real money, all in all MS has a different way of making money; instead of having a membership with worth-it content they make it so you can play the game normally for free, but can't do simple things like have a decent looking character or sell your items.
1K NX equals out to be about $1 USD. But you can't really buy anything with only 1K (besides for items in the trading-system) And the minimum in cards is 10k, which is $10. Now with that said, you're thinking "Why the ******** spend any money? I mean the whole game's there, I'll just sell my items by saying 'selling so and so forth' until someone trades me, and who cares about hair/eyes, I'll have my character wear a helmet anyway!" Well for some strange reason, people still spend hundreds of dollars on their character, not even for useful s**t.
Now there's pets, they're kind of useless considering it's like $5 for one to only last 90 days. unless you fork over another $6+ to get them items to let them pick up your items (so you're lazy and they can auto-pick up your things) Now when I was with whatshername we had pets, and damn where they useful for when you're grinding, no need to pick up your things they're doing it for you! I got one worth $5, thought it was to much but then I noticed most of the ones people have the most are $12+ and some people have three of them.
With NX, you can purchase items that cover over your normal items. For example, here's my current pirate;
I got $10 of NX and bought some of the in-game items he has on and money last year as my Christmas present (1million in the game costs 50 cents in real money, and yes I bought myself a Christmas present /wrist) But I did it because they're damn good items, the hat itself is good enough for me to not need another helmet until the higher levels. Of course it doesn't look to good, but oh well it's not about looking good it's about being ******** strong! But then, there's those items that cover your normal items. So you can look like crap underneath but look like this;
Looks better right? To bad that all of those items total out to be about $26.50, last only 90 days, and don't even effect you in-game besides to look good! To change your hair to something not default it's $5.70, the eyes are $5.10, hell just to change your hair color it's $4.50! That's not even that bad, to have an in-game wedding (which is retarded) it costs at least $30! Minimum! To get double EXP for a few hours every day for a month it's $20! To send a message through every channel in the entire server, it's $1.30 each. You don't even need to use those, really why the ******** do you want to annoy everyone playing in your server?
And people spend a lot more than all of that too. They'll spam those $1.30 each messages all damn day sometimes, that's $1.30 for a single damn sentence that no one wants to hear besides 3 people, they'll have multiple sets of outfits/weapons and have a wedding/get in-game married every other month with whoever they're online dating at the time. Some people even spend $30+ on hair, since some "special" hairs you can only get by spending $2.10 for a "random" change of getting "special" types of hair, and when they fail once they just spend another $2.10 until they get it! Same thing with some in-game items, spending about the same for a random chance to get one item out of a thousand!
