hey everyone, I was wondering if somebody had any answers to these questions. (I know someone posted things like this before, but I can't find it ><) I've looked online, but I was wondering if anyone had any input or info. on it. These questions came to mind because of something that happened today. Lisa and I were playing Keep Away, as usual, and she was poking me to try to get me to let go...and it didn't tickle as much as it usually did. It made me very sad, because I want to be really ticklish =( so these questions arose. Any answers? thanks in advance guys blaugh

Not sure I can offer much input other than what I've read online. I'm not too sure as to why we're ticklish, although I've read different articles. Most of them being about the sensitivity of a person. If I'm not mistaken, and don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure a person's sensitivity can increase and decrease, which would make a person more or less ticklish. I'm still not 100% sure what can increase or decrease sensitivity. I tried sweatdrop Sorry if I didn't answer your questions the way you'd hoped.

Don't worry about things like this. Ticklishness can come and go, and some days you might be more ticklish than before, or more dull than before. I've read stories of people losing their ticklishness as they got older, but I've also read people who became even more ticklish, or ticklish in spots they never were before, the older they got. I've likewise read stories of people losing their ticklish when they got tickled everyday, and others who still have the same levels of ticklish even when they couldn't get a moments peace from tickles.
It's all chance, it's all random. If you're destined to become unticklish, you can't fight it. However, I don't see you as the type - as you should have begun feeling less ticklish already right now, if you were going to lose your ticklishness in the future.
Now, in the future - when you're older - you can begin to use tools on yourself or your friends that will increase your ticklishness. Yes, there are things you can do to increase ticklishness (but there are limits - someone who isn't ticklish will not become ticklish miraculously because of these things)

I do not know too much about it. But here is what I do know. Being ticklish is a body's defense that sends signals to the brain of anything signs of potential danger, such as a bug or a spider. But I do not know why it provokes laughter, though.
