The repelling magics even with a summoner and Kyrie as links to this world made his skin crawl. Like daggers attempting to slide beneath the surface and fillet him; perhaps if he hadn't had his anchors to this world or had not been named they would have had more effect then being irritating. Despite it not actually displacing him Seere was not pleased with it. With a somewhat downtrodden sigh of a victim he decided that anyone watching had already gotten enough of a show so a little more would not matter.

Hearing Kyrie's angry protest Seere reached down and ran a hand over her hair as if to sooth her, before shifting slightly and gesturing with the other hand. The gesture really was more for show then anything else but as he gestured a stack of glasses sitting on a table near Sera burst spraying glass over her and those close. He could hear a few startled screams as those too close got cut by the shards; he then settled his gaze on Sera. "If you don't stop I'll be forced to strangle you and it won't be pleasant. " His voice was still soft and somewhat serious he actually wasn't angry yet. The realization of this caused him pause, and he pet Kyrie's hair again - his angel it seemed she had something to do with the effect. Leaving such thoughts for later considerations he kept a steady gaze on Sera.

Sera’s eyes snapped back and forth between the demon and Kyrie, who was slowly, in Sera’s mind, losing the right to a name. Vamps, weres, fae, they were nameless nothings to her. Monsters didn’t have names, or families, or homes. Those thoughts led to sympathy, sympathy to doubt. Seraphina had no doubts, ever. “Don’t I dare what?” She demanded of Kyr...of the girl. Her attempt at a mean face did nothing to faze Sera; she’d been stared down by the best of them. “Banish this abomination you unleashed on the world? Don’t you even know how risky it is to pact with a demon? Summoners like you sicken me.” The way she called the demon “milord” infuriated her. How a human could sink so low...

The shattering glass made her flinch and shut her mouth, for once. s**t. Her damn spell didn’t do anything. Either it was useless, or he was more powerful than she thought. The loving way he treated her, instead of making him seem somehow human, just pissed her off even more. “I was just trying to send you home,” she sneered. “I thought you’d be a bit more appreciative.” She put her hands in her pockets, then realized she still had the damn box with the maybe-cursed stone. Double s**t. She didn’t know of anyone else off the top of her head that could evaluate the stupid thing for a reasonable price. But with that demon at her side... Sera just wanted to be gone.

“Well, I’m out of here,” Sera sighed, now just annoyed and tired. “I wish you two the best of luck.” Well, tired or no, Sera never ran out of sarcasm. She snagged up her purse with the gun inside, abandoned at the table, and slowly started to leave the square.

S-summoner?! No! No! She hadn't chosen this! She didn't want this, not back when it happened, and who could blame anyone who made the best of a bad situation (which probably wasn't as bad as she'd thought it was)? What would Seraphina have done if she'd ended up sold off to a demon like she was chattel? Probably- probably- Tears stung the corners of her eyes and she blinked, quickly enough to keep her vision clear.

Maybe it had been a mistake for Seere to give Kyrie power, because she refused to let Sera leave and grabbed her arm- the one covered by the orange sleeve, and as her hand didn't immediately burn she felt all right. Now, Kyrie was no strongman but she had enough staying power to hold Seraphina for a moment. "I didn't summon him," she said, a lifetime's worth of agony and confusion in her voice. "I was sold to him. Without my permission."

She looked over her shoulder, at Seere, the same mix of feelings in her eyes but with more confusion and something of... happiness, maybe. Like she wanted him to approve, or something, which confused her so she turned back to Sera. "I can't get out. And, and now I don't want to, okay, so shut up, and don't call Lord Seere an abomination and don't call me a summoner and don't you dare try and send him back because I refuse to go to Hell because I'm a good girl." She hiccuped and let go of Sera, wiping her eyes because she had only just realized that she actually had been crying before, too, and the salt water stung her eyes.

Seere had let Kyrie grab the girl, her reactions were of interest to him. Despite his sight there were many things that he did not see all of one of which was his Angel. Her expressiveness was interesting but more so he delighted in the gaze back to him.

He particularly didn't care if the girl stay or left, he would rather she stayed as such a person could be useful. But she didn't need to know she was working for him for her to be of use, it just tended to be less amusing.

He didn't make any overly outward moves but at Kyrie's distress did brush a hand over her hair again somewhat reassuringly. He spoke softly in response to her tears, "it is alright my Angel." What exactly he meant by the reassurance was questionable at the very best.

This was...unexpected. Kyrie’s blubbering actually made her pause, and she did feel a twinge of guilt. So, it wasn’t her idea after all... well, whoever sold Kyrie, all her anger transferred to the stranger. This someone was even worse than the monster Sera accused Kyrie to be, for what kind of human being sold out another? Lower than the low; hell, lower than a demon! When the girl started to cry, Sera felt really, really awkward. Not ashamed or guilty for making her cry (she got over that pretty quickly), but just odd because she’s not used to people crying all over her. “Look, Kyrie...” she started, and her voice actually sounded sincere and kind, for once. “I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions, really. I didn’t know.” Well, no s**t, Sherlock. But she couldn’t think of anything else to say.

Seere. That was his name. Sera filed that away for later. She had meant it when she told Kyrie names have power. Maybe sometime later, maybe she could find how to use a demon’s name to banish it. But that would have to wait for another time. Sera did pity the girl, having her soul sold to an abomin...to a demon. She debated with herself for a long moment, then sighed, all the fight seeping out of her. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the little box. “Well, I think we might want to leave the shop before we’re thrown out, but...if you’re still willing to have a look at this, I’m still willing to pay.” She forced a smile, and just managed to make it reach her eyes, strained an expression it may be. Seeing Seere stroke Kyrie's hair made her gaze harden, but she held the smile by a fraying thread.

Whatever he'd meant by his words, Kyrie was reassured - she sniffled twice and rubbed her eyes again, lowering her fingers when the monster-hunting woman spoke again. Gosh but she hated crying, her nose got all red and stuff and it was just uncomfortable, and now her shirt was wet. Well, she was getting used to bad things happening to her clothes, especially since Mr. Fauste seemed to realize that something'd changed and paid time and a half what he had before, which was appreciated when your uniform and backpack got smothered in unicorn blood. But it still was the principle- actually she decided it didn't matter now, and hiccuped before saying, "It's okay." From the sincere tone of Sera's voice, maybe she really was sorry, but Kyrie was taking no risks.

She looked at the box uncomprehendingly for a moment, then held out one hand to take it; she didn't grab it, just held out her hand like she was testing whether Sera really wanted her to do it. The cold eyes before that burning of her hand, she'd missed that. These hard eyes, Kyrie saw them clean and clear and her eyes narrowed, but the hand stayed outstretched.

"Of course I will," she said, but she didn't leave her spot. The spelled gloves were already in her free hand.

Seere watched one and then the other for a moment, his gaze had turned away from the stark back to golden colored eyes. The hunter seemed passive for the moment and Kyrie seemed ready to do her job. "I will leave you to your work, Angel. But if you have need of me, I will be here." His gaze drifted to Sera as he spoke before he simply vanished from view.

Instead of going to the hotel rooms that Sam and her people occupied Seere appeared on the roof of Kyrie's apartment. Speaking softly in his own tongue the darkness around him seemed to crawl, his Angel it seemed needed to be guarded at all times. Having a summoner he couldn't chance that he wouldn't be able to get to Kyrie if needed so from the darkness he called for one within his legions.

Sera relaxed visibly when Seere left. Years of honing skills and nurturing instinct were hard to overcome. “Sorry,” she apologized again. If Kyrie knew Sera better, the fact she apologized twice in one day- and meant it- was simply astounding. “He just...unnerves me.” Which was an understatement, but hey, she was trying to be more relaxed. She’d practically tore the poor girl’s soul out with her exorcism, she could at least try being a little nicer.

The box was warded, meant to contain whatever was inside, but she didn’t know if that would bother Kyrie. It was meant to hold in magic, not repel evil, so she doubted it, but... “I found it hidden in a vamp nest,” she explained. “It was locked away pretty solidly. I don’t know if it’s cursed or what; I haven’t actually touched the thing. I have it in this warded box, which is supposed to keep the thing and any attached curses inside. But, I’m not sure if it will bother you.” There, that sounded nice and even. She was warning the girl that the box might be bad for her, that counts as nice, doesn’t it? Anyway, she held it out for Kyrie to test or take.

"Bye-bye," said Kyrie, waving the handful of spelled leather at him as he vanished, going off somewhere to do something demonic, doubtless, which was kind of inevitable because he was demonic, and stuff. She was beginning to think she might not mind that, though. Just beginning.

"It's okay," she said to Sera, slipping on her gloves. Cute, but functional and recognizable silver charms dangled off a fashionable chain. "D'you know, the crosses wouldn't bother a summoner? They're pretty normal, and everything. Pretty nice, too, sometimes. I don't like Mr. Mhin but Mr. Fauste is very nice and he gives me cookies. Also, sometimes he comes over and we have tea. You should look them up. They can help you with banishing spells and stuff, it's not all demonology with them." She took the box and opened it, spilling out the little jewel into her cupped fingers.

For a moment, she was quiet, then she sat down right where she was and rummaged in her bag, scattered a blue dust over her palm and the gem within it. "Give me a moment, please."

Mr. Mhin? Mr. Fauste? She introduced them as though Sera should know them, but she had no idea. Though, she did have to admit, she wasn't up to speed with the latest in demons and banishments and lore. It'd be worth checking out, she supposed. "Perhaps, though I try not to make a habit of being around demons." Seeing how Kyrie handled the gem impressed her- for all the girl's ties with demons and her childish innocence, she did seem to know what she was doing. Sera wanted to ask what the dust was, where she could get could some charmed gloves, or just talk in general. Despite her naturally unfriendly disposition, she was incredibly curious and inquisitive about the otherworldly. Probably a hold-over from her childhood. Mixed in with her hatred, buried deep, was the same interest and curiosity her parents had in the supernatural. However, it was probably so tied up in her rage that the only things she'd be interested in knowing was new ways to kill and/or banish these creatures.

"They're really not so bad," she said, subdued enough that it probably wouldn't irritate anyone. "Lord Seere saved me from a tiefling the other day. He's really very nice, except he's scary when he is angry." And from you, she wanted to add, but it seemed rather bratty and impolite to say especially since Sera was being nice, sort of, so she didn't make a sound to that effect.

Instead she paused and stared up at Sera for a moment. "You're staring. I can tell you where to get the gloves, if that's why you're staring. I like them a lot because they don't let my hands get cold or anything. Do you know if your skin temperature isn't at a certain level a spell might not recognize you as a human? That's dangerous so the gloves don't let your hands at least get cold or hot so it's nice."

Then she held up the stone. Where it had been clear, now it glowed a pale, opalescent blue. She smiled and laughed and wiped off the blue dust on her khaki capris, pulled out a square of pearly silk and tucked the gem away. "It's harmless," she said, "at least, there won't be anything that will kill you or hurt you. I can do a more thorough analysis to find out if it does anything else, but I thought..." Kyrie glanced at her happy tamago sushi flip-flop clips. "...you probably don't want to leave it with me."

“Huh. I never knew that,” Sera said as she watched Kyrie work, fascinated. She didn’t dabble in magic, herself, and was wary of the stuff, though couldn't deny its usefulness. Charm-workers and witches weren’t high on her priority list. “That’s good to hear,” she said with a smile when she heard it was harmless. “But now I feel kinda silly, treating it like I did. But hey, better safe than sorry, right?” God, Sera was awful at small talk. It was the only time she felt like a kid, squirming inside, hoping she didn’t sound like the fool she thought she was. Insecure? No, never! But she did owe the girl an attempt at kindness, and Sera was going to try, no matter how awkward it felt. “Thank you,” she finished. “I don’t mind leaving it with you. Actually, I have very little use for it, if you want to take it as part of your payment?” She dug for her billfold, shoved in an inside pocket of her jacket. “How much, anyway, now that I’m thinking on it?”

She rolled the silk-wrapped stone between her hands, cleaning it of the curse-sensing dust. "Yes, definitely better safe than sorry," she said. "But it probably would have been safe to touch it anyway." Kyrie would not have acted so safe, and then it probably would have been cursed. Giggling, she stood up and held out the stone- and then Sera said she wouldn't mind leaving the stone with her. But she didn't close her fingers around it, her uncertainty clear on her face as she reviewed how much she was supposed to charge.

"Ah..." she deliberated, mouthing the time spent and eventually naming an extremely modest price; she just wanted to skip the normal haggling and go home.

Huh. Wow. That was far less than Sera had imagined. She actually had that amount on her, even though she was expecting to write a check. "Well, fair enough," Sera said with a shrug, plucking up the gem and dropping it back in her pocket. Billfold in hand, she counted out the fee, wondered for a moment if she should tip or something, some kind of consolation for the rough meeting, decided against it, and paid. She had been nice afterward, that was good enough. Sera made enough to get by with enough left over for comfort, but not enough to throw around to apologize to everyone she upset. That'd leave her broke. "Well, thank you for seeing me," she finished, all happy and cheery, pretending like the nervous crowd still milling was invisible, like the whole demon saving thing never happened. Because, it happened, it was in the past, Sera apologized. The end.
