Wow, nice coincidence! My mum got me a toys r us gift card and after searching the whole store and finding nothing I wanted, I had the same idea (getting another mp3 for meditation, maybe something even smaller than my iPod). I got a camera instead...but still!

Okay, this is a rant. I didn't want to make a new topic for it though lol.
I wish I knew how to keep little kids from touch my altar! My boyfriend's Bro came over with his son, and he drank the water that was in my chalice! He dumped my incense ashes everywhere, now I have to get a new altar cloth. I also have a rose on my Altar, and this rose means a lot to me because my boyfriend got a bouquet of roses for me over 2 years ago. They were the first roses I ever received in my life. And This single rose was the only one to survive because my lil brother thought it would be fun to shove all the flowers in my game cube...
But the kid almost ATE it! I caught him just in time. How do you keep a kid from touching your altar, when his parents tell him its fine? I was scolding him and his mom went "He's just a little kid, he doesn't know better." Then gave him ice cream! Now he goes over there all the time cause he thinks his mommy will reward him for it. Idk what to do!!

You need to tell them that this is your private space and that it means a lot to you. These parents obviously do not have respect for other's belongings and only place the child's bad behavior on "he is young", instead of on themselves; IMO. I would talk to your boyfriend as well and tell him that you are upset/uncomfortable/feel disrespected/whatever. If this does not resolve the situation, I have one more suggestion... ...put your stuff away and up high. Do it anytime they come over or if you will be out for a long time. This way no one messes with your belongings and your sacred objects go untouched by little hands that interfere with energy.

So how can you find out the magical properties of certain trees. There are 2 trees that I am very fond of and would like to make a wand from both of them.
These trees are a weeping cherry tree and a cotton wood tree, I think.
Are you supposed to pick up the wood from the ground and leave an offering? Because that will be easy for the cotton wood, but the weeping cherry doesn't leave many branches, and when they do they are really really small. and the branches are not really thick.
How thick should a wand be, and how long should it be?

Any wood could be used for a wand and wands do not have a specified length or width. However, if you are going to be handling the wand a lot, you might want a wand with a thickness of a pencil at the least. Wands can have stones attached, ribbons, feathers, flowers, and the possibility is endless. I heard from sources that it is a good idea to have a wand that is the length of your forearm, but again, personal connections may toss that idea in the bin. As for offerings, if you know where the wand came from, it is encouraged and a sign of respect/honor/friendship/etc to leave an offering. Think of it like a new mother. You just gave birth to the baby and recieve gifts of appriciation or congratulations afterwards (or before depending on how your family celebrates birth). Happy Feeling! biggrin

I'm prolly going to look for good branches today!
I found a great vid that charmingpixieflora did about how to make offering stones. If I can't make those, i'll just off some of my herbs...is lavender okay??? I was thinking lavender for the willow and a more masculine herb for the cotton wood. Is this okay?
I hate being so new!!! GAH!!

GAH!! Awwwe! :3 That'd be adorable! You don't even have to leave herbs if you don't want to. Some blessed water might be even more beneficiary to the trees. Again, this is an up to you thing. If you find something more creative, then go for it!
