The DD has been up for a few days now. Go look it up if you haven't already. I think this will be some fun s**t. Kinda like different game modes on a FPS, like capture the flag and flag tag.
Of course, the items won't have any particular thing set in mind, just a function or a few in order to do these sorts of things.
A flagtag game I think would be possible. A good item it could be available through would be a standard. The Standard could be set to spawn in a random place. Before starting the game, there would be options for how the game would work. Like game length could be set to end based on either time or action. You could have the game end once the standard is picked up. Making it a treasure hunt game. While an option to set a time limit would offer the possibility for a more flagtag type match. It'll keep track as to how long each person had held the flag for. There would be a take-from option on anyone holding the flag. Other options like enabling teleporting for the flag holder and such would also be included.
Another option, like the flagholder being able to duplicate the item by handing it to someone would offer a virus type mode.
Other possibilities with other items could make it possible for games like Hide and Seek. And they mentioned items to allow for fair starts in races, and scavenger hunt games.
Post your ideas of games you think will be possible. Or games you would hope to be able to play.
A zones type game would be cool. Although I don't think would be totally possible with the simple items they may have in mind. I could see a zones game if they were to have something like campsites throughout RS. And you can be on a team. Each team would have a unique color of flames, like firelighters. You get points every few seconds based on how many fires your team has lit. But again, this would probably be too advanced for game tools.
Also post ideas for items you think would fit as a game tool, and possible functions they would have. Such as the dice. They would obviously have a roll option.
Each item, I'd assume would have a settings option.

That made me laugh because, at one of my sessions, our Bard wanted
the ability to summon large instruments. We said no, because it would
crush him. We made the joke that he would summon a piano, or a pipe
organ on the enemy and then run away. rofl rofl

In our group we made the "Wand of Wonderment" and we're allowed to randomly use it with any random effects depending on the roll... Can be as random as a cat licking your foot, a piano falling on top of you, or you choking on air wink ... The DM has some wacky ideas sometimes rolleyes
