I've beenon gaia since Christmas 2009 but I'm just now starting to Role Play and I've got absolutley no idea how to Role Play. Could someone please assign themselves to teach me or could someone please tell me the best person to turn to for help.

(You mean christmas 2008... either that or I have been dating everything a year in the past...)
As far as getting some role play experience, you can always look in the self help. I think I covered all the basic material there, as well as a few pointers and advanced stuff. Once you think you understand what a role play is (which you probably do already), just ask to join any role play the sounds interesting with you. PM the person that created the thread and see if they have any ideas or send them your character's profile.
Here, we try to teach more with experience than by telling you what to do. Just look through the basic role plays for anything that catches your interest and see how things go from there. (Just remember, if one role play doesn't work for you, try another. Not all role plays run the same...)
