The trees. He did understand the trees.

Near sightless blue eyes roamed the landscape, the bags underneath them betraying how exhausted the poor thing really was at this point. He'd long-since left his own pack, the ones who'd hatched him, in search of... oh, he didn't even know what. He needed somewhere safe to stay, and someone to stay with.

Right, that was it, wasn't it? He'd wanted a someone, and he wasn't going to find that in a pack of dragons who were either too much older, too much younger, or were his siblings, which would be gross. He sighed and glanced skyward, where there was nothing but a blurred gradient from orange to a pale, pale blue. So, he barely knew which direction was where, let alone where he was going. So he was hopelessly and utterly lost.

...again.

All that his Highest-ness had ever wanted was a meal. As soon as he had finished the previous one it always seemed like he wanted another. Between Reiterei, Ithnan, and Aprio it was almost enough to drive any dragon insane.

This time it was different. Rei hadn't been out alone in the forest for what seemed like forever and a day without filling the King's pleas. This time, she was out her for her own needs. Just to get away and have some time for herself.

Reiterei had never thought much about what her life would be like when she was younger. Every day seemed the same, and now living with Syoto and his family seemed natural to her. At least she wasn't alone.

As Rei walked further and further from her territory, she began to feel the familiar rush of the sights and sound of this area. A nagging sense poked the back of her mind, but she pushed it away. She wouldn't get lost here. Plus she didn't think that any danger lived around.

'Or at least I hope', she thought as she ventured.

"C'mon, Xin, you've gotten yerself out'ta worse pinches than thes," Xinados mumbled softly to himself. Yeah, right; worse pinches? Like what, hatching? That was probably the hardest thing he'd ever had to do. And that was only because he'd found himself in the perfect situation to be taken care of despite his near-blindness, despite the misty white that hid his pretty blue eyes, turning them a strangely pale colour.

He grumbled softly as he walked through the woods, following the path made by the setting sun, going away from it, which at this time of the year... was going east. At least there wasn't snow on the ground. Oh, he would be in a world of hurt then. And then some...

Finally, another's coat caught his eye. At least, that's what he hoped that was as he trotted out of the bushes, stumbling over sticks and trees and finally getting out of there, into what was more of a clearing, eyes wide, trying to completely make out the form of the dragon who was in front of him, red and... white? He wasn't sure of the patterns. Instead of introducing himself, however, he nearly crept closer, the image getting more and more focused the closer he got. It had been so long since he'd seen a fellow dragon.

Reiterei continued her steady pace away from the sun, and the territory of the Royal Monarchy. She felt a rush of long-earned adrenaline from this sudden sense of freedom. It had been too long.

It wasn't until a little while later that she noticed another shape on the horizon. It most defiantly another dragon, but Rei was surprised that she hadn't noticed it before. His bright green pelt stood out from his surroundings.

Reiterei crept a little closer to where she thought that the dragon was heading, and tried to get a closer view. She barely met anyone outside of the Monarchy, after all.

Lit by the light of the setting sun, that form was definitely that of a dragon. Dark red by the looks of her, though he wasn't completely sure. She seemed... as though she did have markings more than what he could see from only ten feet away, but he couldn't tell what they were... As such, it being the only solution to the problem, he walked closer. And closer. And closer, to the point that his face was barely an inch from her's, and he walked around her slowly, inspecting each edge of the bright, white marks against her dark pelt, eyes glittering with an indeterminate amount of happiness.

Partially wrapped around the female in a way that dictated how little social experience he had, he smiled up at the other and sighed gratefully. "My goodness, you don't know how long et's been since I saw another o'my kin," he said thankfully, unwinding himself from around the female and nodding his head in a partial-bow toward the female. "Pleasure, a pleasure t'meet you, mi'lady. Th'names Xinados, and I can't help but assume tha' such a pretty face would have a beautiful name t'match it, yes?"

As she neared him, Reiterei could see that he was approaching as well, just a little farther down on the path that she was taking. So stopped walking, and tensed a little; not sure of what this other dragon would do.

He kept on walking until he was almost close enough to touch. He seemed to be observing her, as he started to walk around and kept on looking at her. Rei's first thought was that he was sizing up an attacker; like she had seen some other predators do to their prey. But then, as she looked at his eyes, she saw that the bright colored male's eye's held no hint of threat, but of happiness.

Then he spoke, bowing his head in a formal greeting. His voice sounded different from the other dragons she had interacted with, but not annoying or harsh. She liked the accent.

He was polite too. The only other person to call her Milady was Ithnan, and he called every female that. "M-my name is Reiterei," she replied; stuttering out of surprise of the unexpected flattery. She took a mental note of his: Xinados...
