My dance name is Nadeau. Where did it come from?
It's a street name in Southern Michigan. Nadeau Rd. It's right of of I-75. I'm totaly not kidding.
I used to be a very avid role player...and we were driving along coming home from a trip and I said to my now husband "I'm going to name my next character after the next road sign we see..." And low and behold...Nadeau was born.
After joining the SCA, and wanting to use Nadeau as my society name, I went and did a little research on it, and found that it's from around 1420, and a varient of the name Noudin, actually a male name. That being said, I couldnt use it for my name, because "that wasnt period appropriate"...
Kiss my pastey white gypsy arss. >_> So I changed my persona to a gypsy and said "F-it." So now it's not only my stage name, but society name too...I tell people I'm much too cool for a last name...Or that since I'm a gypsy, I dunno where I come from! It works. lol
Anywho...I do fusion dance. lol

Raqs Gothique? What is that? You'll forgive me if i'm a little sheltered, but i haven't been out of my state and there's really only two kinds in good ole WV, tribal fusion and cabaret, i would love to learn about others though

Raqs Gothique, Raqs Spooki, Gothic Belly Dance, thoes are the main names of it.
in terms, i understand it to be the ballet of belly dance. most of the time in Gothic Belly Dance, its a story. movements suggest a story with extensive tribal, ATS movements that is fused. Look up Sashi, Ariellah or Tempest.
