These streets in the poor section of the great and prosperous desert kingdom of Sutran are a dirty and hopeless place. A few poor street vendors cry out their wares, both of which man and product have seen better days. The grudgy streets are riddled with alleys and winding passage full of the poor, the despondent, and the homeless. Filthy children stare out from dark hovel and doorways with lifeless eyes and thin frightened frames draped with rags and sickness.

At the recognition of being in an impoverished area the firebird of a man had altered his clothing so as to not stand out so much from theless fortunate. He could not, however, hide his fit form and clean state without more magic than he could summon at the snap of his fingers. Such a casting would simply draw even more attention. He looked at lifeless eyes with almot a feeling of contempt for the filth, the olden days of his life coming forth, his elitist attitudes and superiority complex surging to life. His face and stride didn't show it, but his eyes did.

Everyone notices of course, and watches. The merchants are a different story, literally bum rushing Torment with goods and wares, offering everything from dried yams and meat pies of indiscriminate meats to... well... just about everything else.

Most of it is shoddy, the rest is crap, and a good deal is just blatantly illegal.

Tor glared at those around him pushing their wares, "Get. Away." He snapped his fingers and a small bag of coins dropped in the street nearby, pure gold pieces could be seen spilling across the ground. He had nothing on his person should anyone feel the need to steal from him save for a metallic blue chain wrapped around his wrist, which was rather impossible to remove, lest one want a powerful mana shock. Either way, he'd push his way past them as best he could. If push came to shove, well, the peddlers and merchants would have to get used to being some small furry animal for a day.

In the span of the next five or so minutes Torment has moved into a less populated section of the poor district, leaving behind him a trail of shocked people and small furry animal which will probably become mugging victims and lunch respectively.

As you turn a dirty corner a wild eyed man leaps out of the shadows and grabs your wrist. The first thing you should notice is that his rags started as something other than rags, the heavily stained fabric and washed out colors could have once been rich finery. Secondly, the man isn't going for the chain on your wrist, a first for anyone who had come in contact before.

"Take it!!!"

He hisses, pressing an object into your hand and thrusting his guant face into yours.

"You're the one! The one who burns like a thousand desert suns, this is yours, TAKE IT!!!"

He rips his hand away from yours, leaving the object with you. Blood drips from what remains of the fingers on that hand, each look to have been torn off between the first and second knuckle. He cackles madly and disappears back into the shadows.

((C&P is awesome, because I say so))

Tor glances down to the object left behind, it seemed to be a Noh mask, with bird feathers and a stylized bird's beak painted on it. It looks like a cross between japanese and mayan design. Despite the blood that had been dripping from the man's hand, the mask seemed clean. Tor started after him, "Wait!" He stopped as the man disappeared back into the shadows, dropping the free hand that had been raised as if to reach out to him.

Tor sighed and looked back down to the mask, turning it over in his hands, "The hell is this thing...?" He didn't dare put it on without first trying to figure it out, masks could do some very bad things if meddled with.
