Right now, the silverback gorilla is on the critically endangered list. There are about 320 gorillas left in the world and they all live in the middle of Congolese, Ugandan, and Rwandan borders.
Political instability within the three countries have caused displaced refugees to flee to the parks and live off of the resources. This means that they have deforested some of the park to farm and have killed some gorillas and other wildlife for meat.
Political instability within the three countries have also cause guerriila rebels to hide and fight in the national parks reserved for the animals. violent shootings and lootings have left the park ranger-less. without protection the gorillas have no chance against poachers and other cross gunfire.
Ecologists, Conservationists, and Biologists cannot keep track of the monitored gorilla groups anymore because it is too dangerous. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW.

This is really sad, to think that by the time I've reached 25 the gorillas will be gone from this world. Damn humanity...
