You could ask him for more Glenn Miller songs. Glenn Miller music often is characterized by using 2 tenors, 2 altos, and 1 clarinet for his sax sections.
: ( Ian Anderson, the guy from Jethro Tull, is pretty awesome, but he's not jazz flute. He's influenced it a lot, I think, but you can probably find people with better tone and technique.

we had one jazz flute last year, and that was only for one song. it was pretty cool, tho. i told our director if he had any jazz flute music to let me know and i'd try out but.. apparently not sweatdrop

My Aunt got me a jazz flute music book as a present for Christmas and I've yet to try it but it looks like hard music. >.> I'm going to give it a go though!

my friend plays jazz flute, but there's not very much music for it because we've never had a flute in jazz band and my bd plays the same music every year. mad

some of our jazz pieces in our band at school have jazz flute parts but if we let a flute join they wouldnt be able to play all the 40 some songs

Kikuka Ya, thinking flutes arnt jazzy enough....in my school, not even the clarinets are allowed to join jazz band, only the brass! *grumble grumble* Acuatlly in my school this year, ouyr band director allowed a clarinet to join the jazz band. I was pissed cuz he wouldn't cave on letting me join cuz I play the flute. The only catch for the clarinet player was that he had to transpose all the music by himself by a certain time or he wasn't allowed.

I've heard pretty much all instruments play jazz: Flutes, piccolo's, Bassoons, oboe's, clarinets. Generally the only woodwind to play jazz is the saxophone

i play the alto tenor and baratone sax and i just wanted to inform everyone that my school Princeton Senior Hight School got a supieror rating at the Southern Regoinal Jazz Festaval
