I have heard that carrots work as natural color enhancers, so I did some research and I Have gotten no straight answers. Has any one tried it?

don't feed fish carrots :O that's just silly XD feed stuff with krill in it or cyclopeeze The red in it enhances color :3
also a varied diet does wonders. so dont feed the usual flakes and nothing else. spice it up with freeze dried blood worms and other things.

I don't really think cooked carrots can do fish any harm. They like sweet peas too. But if it affects the color, I would not know. Bloodworms are what I usually give for that.
Color is also affected by the enviorment. Many fish get a richer color if the decoration and/or the substrate is dark. The type of light matters a lot too. Tetras look really good in a darker tank, with not too sharp white light. But Goldfish look better in a light tank.

ok thats what I thought, cuz I tried carrots but only my golden barbs ate them and I think they were like steriods cuz they got huge. But the colors were all the same. So the flakes with color enhancer should work?

A varied diet is the best thing for colors. My guppies have amazing color and really really long fins compared to their siblings. That's because they get a combination of pellets, blood worms, veggies, and algae wafers. I think the blood worms are what really make the difference in color though. It was the same with my Betta Fiona. She had fins of size and color to rival any males.

It takes a while, then one day you just notice it. That's what happened with my guppies. I thought they were ugly and over rated, then one day I looked at them and I was like =O Pretty!
