Would you call "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney a graphic novel or a book with pictures?
There's actually a debate about this in one small corner of library-land, so I thought I'd ask some readers.

I'd call it a book with pictures...
because isn't a graphic novel in comic strips?

I'd say graphic novel because a 200 page book with pictures that take up like half the page (so in all like 100 pages) just classifies more as a graphic novel.
