S'kagi greets you after dismissing another person from the Weyr, waving you over to the semi secluded alcove he has chosen for it's comparative privasy, with other people of the Weyr excitedly moving out to prepare for other things and the Hatchign Feast. The Bronzerider and wingleader is wearing his hair tied back for a change, and the scarred side of his face being visible for once only makes his serious, even dour expression look even more so.

C’reeeeen! Come on! Let’s go to the Feast! I want to see all the new hatchlings! Right now, Ceylith was in the sort of mood where all of her sentences ended in exclamations. Hatchings always did this to her.

Not now. S’kagi is wearing his serious business hair tie. Which… pretty much meant he had indeed noticed the little gold firelizard on C’ren’s shoulder and wasn’t happy about it. Eh. It was a bit much to hope he could hide a whole firelizard from someone else, even if she was fairly tiny at the moment. The thing that really stuck was the fact that C’ren was about to get a lecture from someone younger than himself, especially by someone with S’kagi’s… issues. It was hard to be lectured by someone like that.

On the bright side, it would be rather amusing to watch someone attempt to make F’sey feel guilty. So, really, it was mostly morbid curiosity that made C’ren actually follow the Bronzerider and fellow Greenrider. The little troublemaker herself, Pyrite, was currently sleeping and looking absolutely adorable about it. Vox was off… well, he had probably already gone to the Feast to beg food from others.

“Yes?” Despite the cute firelizard, C’ren was doing his best to look dispassionate.

The one time F'sey actually got his firelizards to actually behave, he got in trouble for it. Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. The greenrider had already chased his pesky little lizards off, as if that would ease some of his guilt (what in Farnath's name was he thinking, exactly?), though he was quite sure it would not. He was none to pleased it was S'kagi lecturing him, but what could he say? He was guilty as sure as Thread would fall.

F'sey had placed himself a few feet away from C'ren, arms folded across his chest. The older rider was wearing his best 'I'm-going-to-bite-your-head-off' look. If he was going to be chewed out by a Wingleader, he certainly wasn't going to be a coward about it. He also wasn't going to take any verbal abuse that wasn't necessary and-

Mine...

Not now. You got me into this mess. He'd have to have a word with her, later.

"So!" S'kagi's tone had a mocking brightness that would have done C'ren and his 'glare beam' proud. "Who wants to refresh my memory what the rules on Flits on the hatching ground are?" He spread his hands in invitation for someone to answer the question. "I just went through this with someone in the audience and one of the Candidates... that was bad enough..." He let his voice trail off with agrivation and waited for one of them to answer.

Oh good. Question games. C’ren watched with some interest in case something nasty happened to S’kagi, as was often the case when someone decided to play question games. “The rules very distinctly say they aren’t allowed on the Sands. F’sey and I were in the Stands. Not to mention, this little one was just hatched today. I wasn’t about to leave her alone in the weyr. And Ceylith wasn't about to let me stay in the weyr either. She gets very attached to the Candidates she Searches.”

Of course, he could have just stayed there instead of going to the Hatching… C’ren shrugged, apparently not very impressed by S’kagi’s little cheerful tone. “And, with all due respect,” he said in a tone that implied there wasn’t very much, “I’d rather have you upset at me than Ceylith. I don’t have to live with you.”

And Ceylith was the one who’d decide who C’ren had to sleep with eight weeks from now. But that wasn’t something C’ren would point out.

F'sey bristled visible, the redhead trying his hand at C'ren's famous glare beams. Perhaps not as effective, but they still got his point across to even the most blaring of idiots. "Yes," he drawled, "I rather thought that was a rule for the candidates. The ones standing near the Queen. If I recall, we were quite a ways back." Far away as they could get from all the lice-infested Weyr-inhabitants.

Maybe he should transfer Weyrs. To one with less lice...and less angsty bronzerider. For Farnath's sake, couldn't they at least send someone old enough to even rival his years to lecture him?

F'sey snorted at the thought of S'kagi and C'ren living together and then wondered, very breifly, if S'kagi was clean. He did have long hair. And perhaps the lice was getting brought under control, but one could never be too careful. Shuddering a little, F'sey brought himself back to the task at hand and sighed audibly, meeting S'kagi's gaze. "Our lizards didn't cause a spot of trouble, either."

That was a surprise, really.

S'kagi snorted, his mocking tone back to anger. "There is NO barrier between the stands and the sands. None. And the rule, however litteraly you choose to take it, in fact includes them. You can argue your case with the Weyr leader, but, flatly, you won't win. They do not belong in there, at all, and you of all people should know that, which is why you're both on Nightwatch for the next seven night." He gestured sharply, indicating that he had no interest in arguing with the older men, or hearing their rediculous excuses. Both green riders had very...distinct attitudes. C'ren especially, and he was trying to keep the irritation out of his tone when he felt he was being dismissed as being merely a whelp, albeit a whelp with a Bronze.
He hadn't become a wing leader by mistake, after all. "Don't let them on the sands again. Ever. If you can't get rid of them, then take them off the sands. Thats it. No argument. It's wonderful that they behaved but we can't take chances with that."

Oh, yes. F’sey and C’ren had definitely been as far away from the lice-infested inhabitants of the Weyr. It was only the pressure of their dragons that made them emerge from their man-caves. The only reason they even dealt with each other was because they knew they were both clean of the lice. If S’kagi’s angry voice had any effect on C’ren----which it did; mostly, it just made him more angry----then the Greenrider didn’t show it beyond a slight narrowing of his eyes. The Bronzerider was only a few Turns younger than himself, but it was still demeaning to be lectured like this.

“Alright,” he said eventually, once the punishment had been meted out. It wasn’t like he slept a whole lot anyway and, besides, night watch was a cushy gig compared to cleaning out the latrines. “Can we go now, wingleader?” in his mouth, the title was mocking.

There was no point in continuing the argument; the only thing it would achieve was keeping C'ren away from his alcohol.

"Oh excellent," F'sey said dryly. "Now my dragon can gossip with Ceylith all night long. She'll be thrilled." The green would hardly find it a punishment at all! Her rider, however? F'sey liked to sleep and he wasn't terribly fond of listening to his dragon babble like a biddy. Ah, well, at least he would be with C'ren. He liked C'ren well enough.

It will be like bonding! You'll be even closer! Ialluth chirped helpfully.

"Yes, can we go? We have things to do." Mostly make a very brief appearance at the feast before returning to his weyr. So many people in one place! The idea was horrifying. And if he was going to be on Nightwatch all week? Well, then he should probably get something to drink and just sleep until tomorrow night. Brilliant, he thought dryly.

"Just keep the sharding flits off the sands. Both of you are old enough not to act like half informed candidates. Speaking of which, at least one person out there didn't know they weren't allowed, and that includes Your creative interpretation, C'ren." He added cooly. "We'll have to keep an eye on that." He bit back an exhasperated sigh. "Go. Get drunk, get some sleep, and be thankful the candidates got Latrine duty before you did."

We get to be with Ialluth and Hers for several nights? Why, that’s wonderful news! Ceylith trilled at C’ren, completely ignoring the seething ball of anger and indignity that was the Greenrider’s mind. It was usually like that anyway. We’ll get to trade stories and… and talk and we’ll have a real bonding experience! Then, to Ialluth, she added, Isn’t this grand? We can talk all night! For several nights, even! We have so many stories to share and so many things to tell each other about Ours.

Urge to drink… rising… C’ren finally reacted once S’kagi mentioned latrine duty; the fastidious Greenrider flinched at the mere idea of it and quieted down a little. He hadn’t been saying anything, but he quieted down all the same. Nightshifts were easy. Cleaning out that disgusting filth was not.

He turned around without another word, and began to go back to the feast and the irresistible lure of alcohol.

Plus, he still had to get his little revenge on F’sey. Oh, he hadn’t forgotten about that. And he wouldn’t forget about this either.
