S'kagi is waiting for you in a comparatively quiet alcove, since most of the rest of those gathered for the hatching have filtered elsewhere. His expression is serious, and he raises his chin slightly as you approach, his usually relaxed expression is set and cool.
Even more unnervingly: He's pulled his hair back, revealing the scarred side of his face, which somehow makes him look even more chilly and authoritive.
"Congratulations on your impression, but I still need to talk to you about something."

Zara's heart plummeted to where her stomach should be, which wasn't the problem it might have been since her stomach was currently trying to crawl out through her throat. It was utter foolishness to think that nobody would have noticed Beryl's appearance on the sands, so it wasn't a surprise, exactly...she hadn't really been going for subtlety in her panic. "Yes, bronzerider?" she asked, eyes nervously flicking away from the wingleader and back again. Newly a rider and already in trouble...lovely.
Is this why you were hiding, mine? You did something bad? Looking from His to the other rider, Fuxith's eyes whirled with perhaps more concern than was usual. This was not good, not at all!
"I wasn't hiding, but yes," Zara murmured as she did her best to maintain her typical composure. "I need to talk to the nice bronzerider, so be good and don't interrupt, please." Flashing S'kagi an apologetic look, she nodded slightly to signal that she could now pay full attention.

"This seems to have been getting let slip recently, but I felt the need to remind you that no flits are allowed on the hatching grounds, or on the stands for future reference." He waited a moment before continuing, watching her face. "You didn't keep it for long, but still. Next time I'm going to recommend you hand it to someone and have them feed it until it sleeps."
Shards and shells he was really beginning to hate the little things. Which probably meant that an angry C'ren was going to make sure he was delivered ten or so of them, but still. "Since you're going to obviously be too busy to put on latrine duty, however..." He added. "I'm volunteering you and yours to be my assistants in your Weyrling lessons. Understood?"
This sounded fairly light, but was going to entail a bit of work in and of itself, not only being the first to take on any lesson, but helping him clean up after some of the more interesting bits.

Zara nodded slightly in acquiesence, although there was a hint of wariness in her face at the surprisingly 'light' sentence. There had to be more to that than the obvious that if she and Fuxith slipped up in executing a lesson, it would be in plain sight of everyone else...
We won't, Fuxith cut in sharply, thumping the end of his tail against the ground for emphasis. I will be careful, and so will you.
Attempting to go on as though her train of thought hadn't just been interrupted, the new Weyrling nodded again. "I understand, sir. I will be there, and I won't let it happen again." She had a feeling Fuxith would be happy to take the little green to task, should Beryl attempt a repeat performance.

"Good." S'kagi said firmly, nodding. He could have given her the same punishment as the others, but she was one of the only ones he'd seen that had actually made an attempt to comply to the rules, and he didn't want her to feel as though she were in the same boat as those who had flagrantly violated said rules. "I look forward to seeing you in the classes. He flashed her an faint smile as he added. "I have high expectations for you.

Zara felt the weight of the responsibility settling around her shoulders, and it was reflected in her face. "Thank you, sir," she murmured, hoping fiercely that she wouldn't mess this up. It was a big task, sure, but it was an opportunity as well...and if they did well, who knew what the future might hold?
We will succeed. So why do you worry? Should I worry? Yellow started to tinge the edges of Fuxith's eyes as he looked up at His. The mixture of worry and anticipation coming from His was confusing, and he wasn't sure how to interpret it.
"Just a moment," Zara replied, running a hand over Fuxith's head in hopes of reassuring him. "Is there anything else, bronzerider?"
