Can someone please tell me about the Fairies and the Veil part of May Day, I know that the may day poll represents the God and Goddess, but I wish to celebrate the other meaning of May Day, So can someone please tell me what it is about?

Also, what is everyone doing for May Day?

Here's a link to my favorite site for information about Wiccan Holidays.
http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Holidays/beltaine.html

I don't know anything about fairies on May Day.
I usually wear flowers in my hair, and if I can get enough people together, we'll do a May pole.

May Day is also known as Beltaine, so it can be confusing.

Basically, some symbols are: May Pole, Egg, Baskets, Flowers, Butterchurn

Deities it's associated with are: Flower Goddesses, Divine Couples, Deities of the Hunt

Colors: Red and White

Herbs: almond, ash, cinquefoil, frankincense, marigold, meadowsweet, and woodruff may be burned; angelica, bluebells, daisy, hawthorn, ivy, lilac, primrose, and rose may be decorations.

I'll be quietly celebrating in my head biggrin It'll be the six months at CR and just about a full year since I found this path and it...well hit me! I'm excited! blaugh

As for anything about it, Electric Snowball was right about it also being called Beltaine. The celebration is connected with the god Belenus, and huge cermonial bonfire back in its original state. That's about all I can give you, being from the CR perspective.

Yeah, it's tons of fun. Hmm. I'd think about having a bonfire too, but it's 90 degrees here in Texas, so I don't think so.

I babysat, then went to my boyfriends house to have a bonfire, only to find out that I cant because everything got all wet from the rain and that my friend couldn't come over and the house is full of sick people, so i couldn't even dance around and play music inside.

yeah, not the best xD

It rained here, but I still made a basket of paper flowers.
