We have been reporting for a while now that former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy has been giving officials within WWE the feeling that he will NOT be re-signing with the company when his current deal expires this summer. Several sources have cited burnout and the hectic road schedule as the reason why Hardy may not want to work with the company much longer, however, according to new reports the feeling is that Hardy's hardball tactics have given him negotiation leverage which will most likely interest Hardy enough to re-sign with WWE before his current deal is expired.
Should Hardy decide to re-sign with WWE, it will either be a situation where he works the same amount of time he is working now and gets a pay increase, or, he will remain at the same pay level but work a reduced schedule similar to the situation The Undertaker is currently in.
In other Hardy news, it should be noted that both Jeff and Matt Hardy have been in talks with MTV concerning some sort of reality show idea for the network. Matt and Jeff both currently produce an online video series called "The Hardy Show."
On top of the negotiations, this weeks SmackDown sees jeff Hardy win a Fatal Four Way match to become Number 1 contender.

That championship match might just be an ultimatum. A way to convince him to stay around. He liked his run as WWE Champion, and, even if I don't like him as a wrestler, I do like him as an entertainer, and that's what they need at the moment. So with a reign certified once you sign your contract, it's kinda hard to refuse.
Smart move Vinnie, smart move.

Jeff Hardy has stated somewhere that all this about him not re-signing is nothing but a rumor.
