Limitations
We realized that while creating this world and guild, we decided that there should be a few limitations on things such as magic and weapon usage/types. Don't worry, these things should not limit you to only a few things, but rather make this thread a bit more interesting.
Magic: Magic in our realm comes in the form of a chant and then cast kind of thing. We don't want people to be able to drop enormous fireballs on one another, or instantly call upon a tempest to do there bidding. We would like you to take time to cast your spells. Either prepare them early on, or chant for a post and then cast if you can, but mages and warlocks cannot instant cast everything. We will allow certain cases of instant cast spells because we all know we love to throw it into our spars, but you must realize that those spells must only do little things, such as light up a room. The longer it takes you to cast your spell, both post number wise and story time wise, the stronger it can be.
Technology and Guns: We set our world in a Victorian steampunk setting to give us some variety, but we do not want to focus solely on machines and whatnot. We wanted our guild to have a more fantasy like feel, so we're going with a very early form of the Victorian steampunk. While the steam engine has been invented, its practical uses have not yet all been found. Handguns and rifles will stay single shot/bolt action, and their power will be somewhat limited (think final fantasy guns that hurt, but can't kill you unless you were shot hundreds of times). Automatic guns are only found in gigantic forms, and tend to still be very faulty and often jam or break. Transportation has evolved, and there are a few airships, although only a select few have had the opportunity to even get close to one. Tanks and mech-suits are in their early stages of development. All the while, scientists have been trying to fuse magic with technology, and have found only a few successful adaptations.
Myths and Legends: We want this world to be comprised of anything and everything your imagination can handle, and thus you are allowed to incorporate any type of lore that fits the aforementioned limitations. Anything is possible though, so find ways to make what you want happen.
*Note on the Eternals: Because of their tremendous power, I have decided that the role of an Eternal cannot be asked for from the beginning. Role Players must earn their right to play as one of these magnificent creatures. To do so, you must be a regular poster here and must have taken part in the main storyline at some point or another. When it comes time to introduce an Eternal into the world, we will hold a contest. All those that wish to apply for it will at that time. If you do win, you will be allowed to start another character in the form of the Eternal. The form of the contest has not yet been decided.
