alexelence Oh well um... Ok in basic terms aka google search Geek: a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed. Nerd: an intelligent but single-minded expert in a particular technical field or profession Naturally A geek would always be the obsessed otaku but the nerd is the one that does the research in a field. For instance knowing all about battle strategy, is in cadets to some form, playes rainbow six armoured core etc and as a result hold better ground and appreciation for anime like Full metal panic and evangelion. A similar obseesion but one that is constructed and educated. Im not very good with my words, well explaining myself anyway. But essentially I wouldn't attach the term nerd to an otaku. Hmmm interesting. I've always thought the geek was wiser in the technical/computer field where as the nerd was an all-around smartie...

Well if we are going with cultural differences it could just be the english view toward such categories.

Lol there was a anime club at my middle school xD it was the BIGGEST DUD EVA... i like anime but all they did was watch like dragon ball and watch sailor moon without transforming scenes and talk about naruto xD even then i will not stoop that low. i could barely call that a anime club

There's actually two such clubs at my college. One is 100% devoted to anime, the other mixes anime and live action series.

I found out that after I graduated HS they made an anime club which so sucks now because we wanted one while I was in HS but hopefully my college will have one

Most colleges seem to have one. If you look at your colleges website, they may have a list of clubs so you can check beforehand! ^_^

It seems like a lot of colleges have an anime club? I just need to wait till I get into college then.. I feel so out of place..xD

There is an anime club at my school. Sadly, I didn't join. Now it's getting cut out of the budget and won't be there next year. I wish I joined while I could. D:

That's horrible! Hopefully something will work out. You could always just meet up all of you and watch anime together. `Strawberry Skittle There is an anime club at my school. Sadly, I didn't join. My highschool has an anime club and japanese club. I was vice president of the anime club but I graduated so I handed my position off to someone I trusted. The anime club I can honestly say sucked. The members didn't do anything. They relied on the officers to do everything and the worst thing is the president lets them. Wouldn't be surprised if it was canceled next year. Trying to get an anime club started at the library district here.
The Japanese Club was started by me but was run by an english teacher who knew Japanese. We met once every Thursday after school.
