Username:Aya-Firebird Kirin Name: Calen POTO reference: the music of the night Prompt Chosen razz rompt 1:
Your mother set out a couple of hours ago to get a drink of water while your father stayed behind to watch the eggs. Starting to grow worried, he sets off in search for her, leaving you and your siblings alone. Naturally, this is the time that you decide to be the first to hatch. Do you stay by your unhatched siblings' side, or do you wander off in search of your strangely absent parents? What happens? Prompt Response:
It was dark, but there was a sliver of light, Calen decided to go towards it, smacking his head into something hard. Determined to get to that light, he smacked his head into the hard wall again, this time hearing it crack. He tried one more time bursting out into the bright light. Standing outside the shattered reminants of his shell, he looked around. Seeing two more eggs, he wandered over and sniffed them, the smelled oddly familliar. It was just him and the other two eggs. There was a strange sense of wrongness to this situation, but he was determined not to leave the other two eggs. He knew he had to protect them no matter what. He just knew this was his family, and he was determined to keep them safe. Calen paced circles around the eggs, pouncing on anything that might be a threat, mostly a line of ants making a line through the clearing. He was starting to feel his stomach grumble when he heard a rustling, he perked up thinking it might be the rest of his family. He saw a strange set of glowing eyes hovering in the bushes. That is not my family... A little scared, he nudged the eggs into a safe spot in the surrounding bushes and went to take a stand. The little kirin stood in the middle of the clearing with a defiant look on his face. "You can't have them!" he shouted to the thing."they're my family and you can't have them!" his voice was starting to shake, he was scared. The thing let out a low rumbling growl and the glowing eyes started moving closer. Calen wasn't sure how he was going to protect the eggs, this thing seemed so much bigger than him. The thing came running out of the bushes towards the little kirin, he tried to make himself as big as he could, but that thing was coming at him so fast. Just as it was almost on top of him, another kirin, much bigger than him, barreled into its side, knocking it far from him into the bushes. Calen knew this was the missing part of his family. "I knew you hadn't left us!" he shouted, voice a little shaky, running up to them. The one he was positive was his mother looked panicked. "Did it get the others?!" she asked. "No, I hid them from it," Calen said proudly leading them to where he hid the eggs.

Judging the entries was extremely difficult, and if it were possible we would have selected several individuals. However, as there is only one egg, we had to painstakingly narrow down the best of the entries. The winner for this contest is Cornetified. Congratulations! Please take your egg to the cert thread to be certed.
As I said before, picking only ONE winner for this was exceedingly difficult. Special mention to Kesmi and hawaiiancat2007, as both of their entries were quite excellent. We would like to thank you all for participating in this event and wish you the best of luck in the future.
