that episode was tight. like when it showed everything in time slow, and clark got affected by kryptonite and slowly time went back normal and the squiggly lines went away and the money was frozen in the air

I hated most of this episode so much, but I'm going to repost this from elsewhere:
This is the first episode of SV with Lois this year that I've out-and-out hated almost every scene of: there were a couple that I felt no need to think about again, but none of them raised my ire like this episode. I did try to approach this episode as if it were going to be like "Hex", and I would like it despite my apprehensions, but to be honest -- while "Hex" could have insinuated things about Lois that I didn't like (which it didn't; which was awesome), it was never going to attack her characterisation in the same way that "Stiletto" always was.
But! I have decided that I like "Stiletto". First of all, because Chloe [and Jimmy] lowered the moral bar so far: as much as I hate that they went there with Lois and journalism and portrayed Lois as fabricating a story almost from whole cloth, it's hard to reprimand Lois for getting carried away in a very short period of time when you have Chloe not only not taking the opportunity to tell Clark about the situation with Davis, but disposing of the body of one of his murder victims herself, and when you have Jimmy stealing conterfeit money to buy drugs. Secondly, because Lois was the only one who learned a lesson and took it to heart -- Chloe was pointedly shown not learning any kind of lesson and Jimmy, just, I don't even know anymore -- and she learned it so quickly it was as if she was already questioning herself when Clark came along and gave her doubts voice. Thirdly, because Lois intercepted the original article and it never went to print, so technically she didn't do anything indictable -- but the fact that they had her come so close was painful.
But most importantly I forgive "Stiletto" for that closing scene.
I wish I could surgically remove it from the rest of the episode and cherish it forever. But it's partly the context which makes it so delicious: Clark thinking he is doing Lois a favour over the whole Stiletto debacle; Lois turning it around and asking him what she can do for him (in stark contrast to the way that Lex, Chloe, Lana and others have always approached him, which is always to ask "Why are you keeping secrets?" or "What can you do for me?/the World?").
And just -- Clark is so lovely, I don't even know where to start. It's the little smile every time he says "Miss Lane"; it's the way he's trying to cultivate this Superman persona but keeps almost forgetting and having to make himself manlier; it's the fact that this is something SV has never done in any way, shape or form -- this will always completely belong to Lois, and in part because it would never work for any other character. I think at this point that this is the scene which illustrates what I love about Clark and Lois and their dynamic as characters.
What I also love about it is that it's obviously Smallville's 'take' on the idea of the Lois & Superman interview scene, but because it was Smallville and because of the unique set of character dynamics SV has, and the fact that the Superman identity is still in genesis, it was so much better, more interesting, more touching in a lot of ways than a scene between Lois and Superman could have been. It wasn't just 'Smallville's version of'; it was also something very new.

Haha wow, no love for this episode. Then again, I don't remember any part of it other than the shooting, bearclaw and phonebooth scenes which I have bookmarked on youtube. xp
