Krys turned the corner while her and Julie were in the Glen. The woman walked right past a bright yellow thing with a furry back.
Julie waited, however. He couldn't believe the woman was that stupid! ''KRYS!'' he yelled, jumping up angrily.
Krys jumped slightly, surprised by the sprite's shout, ''What!?''
''You JUST walked past a spider!'' he jumped up and down, pointing behind them.
''No I didn't,'' the woman stared blankly, obviously confused.
''Turn around NOW, and go after that thing!'' Julie looked as if he knew exactly what was going on.
Finally Krys turned and slowly walked back. By the time she got there, the spider was slightly hidden. It took silent looks and pointing from the sprite before she finally saw the creature.
''That's it?'' Krys asked, looking at the golden bug.
''Catch it!'' Julie hissed, not wanting the creature to make it to his plant.
Probably very funny to watch, Krys tiptoed to the creature, slowly taking out her bug box.

As Krys's shadow fell over the spider, it jerked back reflexively. However, a moment later it spotted Julie, who looked a mite less threatening. Deftly, the spider tried to maneuver around to the side Julie was on without coming too far out of the cover. Maybe it could get the little sprite alone, and then have some dinner!

Krys's one eye flashed as she watched the spider. Secretly, she was steaming. It was obvious the thing wanted to at least catch her precious little sprite... maybe even eat it! Well, she wouldn't let that happen.
''Julie,'' she whispered quietly, her head watching the path of the spider, so coincidentally -sp?- her lips were right by the sprite's head. ''I think you are being the bait...even though I hadn't planned on it.''
''...just... catch it!'' Julie quietly whimpered, still standing and hanging on to Krys's ear. If anything happened, he was going to jump in between the woman's collar bells!
Krys relaxed, much like a swordman before the killing blow. She changed her stance, in such a way that when the spider jumped, she would spring and catch it with her net.
Julie couldn't help but giggle nervously, ''You look like one of those epee fencers!''
The human ignored the comment, all her attention on the spider.

The spider froze as Krys moved, but then regained its confidence. Nothing had ever harmed it before...if it caught this entree, it would be renowned throughout the spider world! Well...at least maybe throughout the local forest. It started to daydream about being famous, until a breeze shook the branch it was perched upon. Coming back to reality, the spider scrambled up to the apical leaf and jumped with all of his might straight at Julie, his legs waving comically in his best atempt at looking fearsome.

Julie screamed like a girl when the spider sprang.
Krys was shocked when she heard her macho-Julie scream. Because of that, a mili-second later she jumped back, ducked slightly and swum with her bug trap. Just as she expected, the terjectory -so spelled wrong- placed the sider right into it.
With a victory dance, Krys held up the trap, "Yeaaaah! Who's your daddy!? It's your birthday! It's your birthday!"
Julie collapsed on the woman's shoulder, "That was not fun....!"
With a smirk, Krys turned to the sprite, "Why Julie, I never knew you screamed like a girl!"
"DID NOT!"
"You soooo did! At first I though someone else was on my shoulder," Krys giggled and taunted the sprite while she walked with her new spider-trap-box-trophy.

The spider stared out from the walls of its prison mournfully. It had lost its chance for lunch.

Krys put the occupied trap away and stretched her arms. Her back could be heard cracking and with a sigh, she started walking. "So, Julie-dear... where should we go next?"
With a groan and whimper, the sprite sighed, "Home...."
"Not yet, my love!"
Julie shuddered, not sure if he liked this victory-themed Krys any better than the clueless one.
