Thought this might be a nice thing to have in here... I might kick it into one of the subforums later.
I'm curious what kind of promotional materials others use, and I think it would be nice to compare the different options people are using. smile
For myself, I tend to use a lot of VistaPrint stuff, since it's ultra-cheap so I can expend my budget on better things:
I keep a nice stock of business cards around (and a few business card magnets), that I keep on the table. I also carry a few with me, and drop one into the protective sleeve of each commission I do. They're also my go-to backup when I run out of other hand-out items. I use the VP "premium business cards," on which I can upload my own design. (Each upload costs you $5, so it's wise to design something you can use on multiple items.)
I also have lately been handing out shiny color-printed bookmarks, which are actually the small and large VP postcards cut into strips (three for the small, six for the large). The front has some artwork related to my comic, the back a short synopsis of the story. They're smallish bookmarks, but they get a decent amount of attention, especially when I hand different designs to the different people in a group. I've previously used the postcards just as postcards, but I get more mileage out of them this way.
And I've just purchased a small vinyl banner that I'll be finding or making a stand for and putting up on my table, measuring 20" x 35". It's a pretty nice quality, actually. I'll see how well it works in practise early next month.
So! What does everyone else use?

Currently I have business cards made up that i keep a stack on my table and i try to make sure that everyone who seems interested and or makes a purchase leaves with one. We dont have a banner or anything like that, although we have considered it later on, after we have recovered some of our initial costs (button maker for example). In the meantime im trying to advertise by word of mouth as best i can, by posting in relevant forums.
