So, you want to join in on the fun, do you? The next step is simple: Create a thread in this subforum and name it whatever you like. One thread per Username, please! You may want to use the first post as a Table of Contents for the rest of your characters, feel free to have more than one!

My personal take on Role-Playing is that somewhere between two to five characters is just about perfect. More characters means that if one character gets tied up in a specific location for a long period of time, you can still RP with other characters in other areas, so there's no need to wait for days for the other person to post!

The following template is a basic template. You may omit and add whatever details you like. Don't have an image for your character? Put down a text description and see how well that goes. Remember to host whatever art you use on your own and link back or credit the artist.

The next question is paramount: Would you rather be faerie, or human?

A Guide on how to fill these out

Appearance: May be a picture or text! If it is a picture, please eliminate the word appearance from the top. If text, then please place between Alias and Breed/Occupation.
Name: Their common name. If Fae, not their 'Fae Name'.
Alias: Any nicknames...?
Occupation: Does your human have a job, are they a runner, a business man, or pursuing Faedom?
Breed: What type of Farie are you? Just 'Faerie' is not acceptable. are you a nixie, pixie, kelpie or nymph? If you're unsure, think of something suiting to your court. Or an Elf. They're pretty common.
Personality: Does your character play well with others?
History: Anything important about your character's past which explains who and what they are today.
Abilities: Any specific skills, spells, or physical abilities your character has?
Flaws & Weaknesses: Everyone has them. Specifically, things that are exploitable by others. Is your character unable to read? Personality traits do not count, unless they are easy to manipulate or the like. I want to see minimum two, preferrably four for each character.
Weapons: Does your character carry any weapons on them, or posses any natural weapons?
Sight: If human and you have the sight, where did you get it from? Boon, genetics, an amulet?
Alignment: Seelie/UnSeelie/Sunchild/Frost/None

Friends: Leave these empty
Enemies: Or PM someone else to add history
Lover: Or delete them if you don't want them

Theme Song: Not necessary, but amusing!

Fae
Fae, Fai, Faerie, Faery, Fairy, Fairie, Faire, Little People, Good People, The Forces that Be.

The Fae are divided by alignment to certain court. Your character may be Seelie, UnSeelie, NonSeelie, a Sunchild, or a Frost. Your choice of court will effect your character's disposition and appearance, as well as how well they get along with the other courts. Choose wisely!

Erase all thoughts of 'Good' and 'Evil'.
There is only action and inaction, compassion and mistrust.
No Court is better than another, the posession of Power determines all.

The Bright Court
Seelie

Beauty, grace, and elegance. The Bright Court embody these three things flawlessly, and consider themselves the leader of the Faery race. They have the most influence because they involve themselves the most in the workings of the other courts, interfering and using sabotage to make sure that they stay 'on top'.
Seelie are most often creatures of beauty. They are the most likely to take on human-like appearances and flaunt the faces of mortals -but far too beautiful to ever be true humans. Extravagant is a word to describe them, all too well infact.
Disposition: Holier-than-thou, prone to backstabbing to get what they want, more power.
Allegances: Unsteady alliance with the Night Court, simply for the fact that one could never exist without the other.
Close ties with the Winter Court, and agreeances with the Summer Court when they are in season.

The Night Court
UnSeelie

Whereas the Bright Court would stab you in the back and leave you for dead, the Night Court would make a public spectacle of it. Hang your enemy by their ankles from the ceiling and serve their blood in a cup to the King, and then the party really begins.
Night Court cater more to the strange and unusual fae than the beautiful. Expect pointed teeth and claws at every turn, wicked grins eager for blood.
Disposition: Brutal, likely to trick as well as cause trouble. They don't backstab as a general rule, they'll let you know they're screwing you over as they do it.
Allegances: Rivalry with the Bright Court that often goes too far, they like to poke and prod and have a little fun with the Bright Court, not that the others don't either.
The Night Court and the Summer Court have always had close ties, and although the Winter Court has friendly ties, they're not quite on the same pleasant level.

The Summer Court
Sunchildren

Seasonal to the Spring and Summer, Summer Fae are light hearted and jovial, although that can all change in an instant. The Summer Court is the only court to have ever been defeated by another, rushing emotions occasionally falling prey to the Winter Court's cold and calculating plans. However, once the Night and Bright Courts become sick of ice ages they seek to reinstate the Summer Court.
The Summer court is recognized as the court that fits in with humans the easiest, willingly donning flip flops and shorts to go walk along the beach and join the parties that they might come across there. In the spring they slide out of their warm dens, and in the autumn you may see them bundle up against the harsh chill as they make their way to their homes again.
Disposition: Bright and cheery from spring through Autumn, as long as they aren't around the Frosts. They think that the seriousness of the other courts is stupid, and should be disrupted whenever possible, usually resulting in chaos, mayhem and the like.
What's more fun than chaos? More chaos! Prone to moodswings and acting entirely on their (rather volatile) emotions, the Summer Fae rarely take anything serious unless it involves the plans for the perfect prank.
Allegances: Good ties with the Night Court and an agreement to disagree with the Bright Court. They have an unsteady truce with the Winter Court, simply accepting that each of their courts serves as a force of nature and that one cannot overcome the other without severe repurcussions.

The Winter Court
Frosts

Frigid temperatures keep pace with the emotionless chill of the Winter Court. Not to say that they're entirely devoid of emotions, but they do make a point to keep them far back out of their dealings with the other courts. Hard work is rewarded, betrayal is punished and elders are always respected until you are about to kill them.
The appearance of Frosts varies from the beauty and elegance of flakesprites and autumn breezes to the strange and disheveled appearances of zephyrs and hags. One common theme is that Winter Fae lack color, and usually appear in either shades of gray or blue.
Disposition: Cold and secular, Frosts like to keep to themselves. They frown upon the childishness of the other courts and prefer to think through each decision to the utmost degree.
Allegances: Stronger ties with the Bright court than either other Court, the Winter Court is careful to keep tabs on the activities of all the other courts and keeps more spies than any of their counterparts. Despite this the Winter Court keeps truces with the Night and Summer Courts, simply to keep from upsetting the balance of things once more.

The UnCourted
Non-Seelie

Not aligned to any court, NonSeelie are free fae who follow their own rules. However, for being independant there is a heavy price to pay. A Court means protection, defence and brotherhood (as long as you remain in good favor in most cases) while as a NonSeelie you will have none of that. It is open season on all those who do not align themselves with a court. You will be kicked around, beaten, stepped on, and possibly even killed and no one will ever step in to stop you, after all, whether by exile or by free choice you are on your own.
What the NonSeelie look like varies wildly from location to location, they often adapt to suit their location, or migrate to a place that is more suited to them. Here in the UnCourted you will find your Urban Fae, Fae who represent the city and its life rather than nature and the old ways. Although Urban Fae are few and far between, this city is ruled by the Courts that preside.
Disposition: Varied.
Allegances: None, not even to each other.

Human

So you've decided to stick with the comfortable, the normal, and the resilient human?
Well, there's different flavours of human that you might want to take a look at, beyond your normal every day sheepfolk.

So, unless you'd like to be 'Blind', a normal person who knows nothing of the Faries around you, let's take a look at the catagories of humans.

The Sighted

The ability to see Faries in broad daylight, known as 'The Sight', is usually a trait passed down through bloodlines. Fae can be seen by normal humans as well, but only when they want to be seen.
There are other ways of obtaining the sight, as well. You can drink potions, wear amulets, or ask for the sight from a Fae as a boon. Fae like their privacy however, and aren't likely to hand over the power unless they have to.

Changelings

Changelings are people who have become trapped in the Fae world. Usually kidnapped as children, Changelings age slower than usual humans and get to experience the joys and freedoms of Fae life. Usually illiterate, Changelings have no need to reed, but now and again one may study magic and learn to read Fae scrolls and texts.
For our purposes, Changelings can speak English, but would have a heavy, unidentafiable accent.
Only the Summer and Bright Courts take Changelings, save for the special position of Fai, as seen in The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.

Changelings can also be the reverse of what is listed above: Left behind in the place of a human as a young fae, with little to no memories of their lives as Faeries. The onset of puberty would bring more than just hormones to the surface however, and after a period of confusion most Changelings would leave their human families behind and join the flutter of the Fae.
Reverse Changelings can be part of the Bright, Night, and Summer Courts.

Runners

Also called hands, runners are humans who live in the human world, but do jobs for the fae. Usually only for the Bright and Summer Courts, hands are called and sent into iron-heavy areas to do odd jobs and retrieve objects and items, whatever the fae who called them asks.

Why would a human work for the fae? It varies. Maybe they're recieving a boon in return. Gold, jewels, influence and power are all up for grabs. Maybe you're a thrill-seeker with a job unlike any other. Maybe the Fae have a loved one in their grasp, or maybe you've done something to make them upset and now you're working off their debt. Perhaps you were a changeling, released from your captivity into the human world but not wanting to leave your faery life.
