Elora was on her way to the laundry to start her chores, scratching her sweaty scalp on the way. As she passed several other folks also scratching their heads, she shook hers. Should be used to all this heat by now, she thought. At least, I should be, after all the running I've had to do before. A moment later, though, she felt something moving under her fingertips... something alive. Startled, she picked at the moving thing until she finally caught it. Bringing her hand down for closer inspection, she found a couple of tiny bugs wriggling on her fingertips. Horrified, she stared at the miniscule things. She loathed bugs! And now... now she had them in her hair?!She nearly screamed. Fortunately, she didn't. Unfortunately, the reason she didn't scream is because she'd fainted.

Itchy. Itchy. Zhaylan was walking slowly to the kitchen for breakfast. He paid little attention to the people around him. Most of them looked the same, not very interesting to draw. As he lumbered through the tunnel, he passed a girl smaller than him. He stopped and looked carefully at her. Her face appealed to him for some reason. Maybe to draw?
He rarely, if ever, thought about sex or anything sexually related. While others were tumbling were they could, Zhaylan was working on his masterpieces or being sent off to make money for his section of the Hall. Suddenly, she dropped to the ground. Blinking, he realized that she had fallen. Not good. Wrinkling his face, the Artist moved over to dropped girl and nudged her with his foot. "'Ello?"
Even the lowest in the hall helped others out. And you were never mean to people or animals smaller than you. Looking around wildly, Zhay realized that they were all alone. Not good. Leaning down, he picked her up. Small. He held onto her easily; trying to gain his bearing, Zhaylan knew if he went to the kitchens, someone could take her to the Healer people. A plan. With that plan, he headed back the way he was going.

With a low groan, Elora rolled her head to one side. What happened? she wondered as she slowly opened her eyes. The last thing she remembered was picking something out of her hair...
"BUGS!" she yelled, remembering what she'd seen. Before she could attempt to sit up, however, she realized that someone was carrying her. Fighting panic, she turned to look up into the person's amber eyes. "You've got to get 'em off of me!" she pleaded, trembling. "I hate bugs! Please, you've got to get 'em out of my hair!"

When the girl started yelling, Zhaylan did the most logical thing in his mind. He dropped her. On the floor. It wasn't like she had far to fall. Apparently the girl was babbling something about bugs. Zhaylan didn't remember seeing any bugs.
Itchy. Itchy.
The itchy might be made by bugs. Canines itched when they had fleas. People could get fleas too. People fleas. This sounded funny to Zhaylan who chuckled at his own mental joke. When the girl said something about her hair, the artist gave her a look. What about her hair? When canines got fleas, they got shaved and washed.
Did people get shaved?
He had to ask. "Shave hair and wash? No more people fleas."

Elora looked up at him from her new position on the very hard and unforgiving floor, aghast. "Shave my hair?! You can't be serious!" Although, she thought, a haircut might not be a bad idea in this heat... but to just chop it all off? That's absolutely unthinkable!
As another itch on her scalp made itself known, she scrambled to her feet. She was so frantic to do something to get rid of the pests, that as she looked around to see where exactly she now was that she didn't recognize her location. "Whichere's the nearosest... I mean," she stammered, taking a deep breath and trying again, "which way's the closest bathing room?" As she scratched another spot in her hair, she mentally kicked herself. When will I learn to stop mixing my words?
