Of course! For a second there I was assuming you had such a talent. mrgreen

BTW, do you have many stories Alanora? If so, do you have one where there's only one God, and another where there are many?

ScarletFrost
Entropy isn't really the name of the devil in my story, but a description of his malicious will to completely destroy everything the One God created. Can you think of a better way to get revenge on an all powerful loving being? He'd have different names in different cultures, but his intent is always the same.

So maybe all great minds do think alike. xd

My plot stalled right at the end of the fist book and the beginning of the second. My heroes are all safe and sound, and my villains are just starting to get really nefarious. I'm searching for another round of firecrackers to get things moving again, but so far the only thing I can come up with is an oracle vision intended to prevent the villains from succeeding in their entropic-ly destructive plans. sweatdrop It just feels kinda pathetic and like it's a very amateur way to get things done. stressed

This point in a story is when you introduce a new character. Not only does this add pages or even chapters to you novel (you have to get to know the person a bit and MEET that person) it also adds a creative doorway to bigger, better and fresher plot.
A new character does not need to be an oracle that for tells impending doom. he she or it does not even need to ever meet your main characters. he/she/it can simply, perhaps even unknowingly, drive events towards your main characters in such a way that they end up knowing things about the a fore mentioned impending doom that they wouldn't have known otherwise. A new character can stumble onto a dastardly plot and after much inner turmoil and debate, bring the information to the attention of one or more of your main characters. Or a new character can DEMAND that your main characters do soemthing about the evil brewing... wherever it is you've brewed it. I could go on and on and on....

I think I know what you mean Wolfie but, why is there a need for yelling? lol

I guess a good way for said characters to know about the "impending doom" would be if the oracle either sends a messenger their way or if one of the characters is given a dream from the oracle, right?

Ok, I got a fairly complicated question (At least to most of my friends). If the story takes place in a world of elves, and it has five parts, with one leading character in each part, and these five characters are each reincarnations of the last, and the first four are religious elven legends (and are seen as gods/goddesses) , When the fifth leading character discovers that she is a reincarnation of these gods, and that she knows the seemingly only connection to these opposite gods, which will bring peace to the elven people, If the elven public is mostly like the human public in (Diverse) ways of thinking, then how would you think the public would react?

(Oh, I think I know the answer to the question 'How would a fantasy world work without a religion, without making everyone atheists?' I personally think that believing this quote, and just giving up the quest for truth. (That dosn't necessarily mean that this quote is saying you should end the quest for truth)
Quote:
"Truth is after all a moving target Hairs to split, and pieces that don't fit How can anybody be enlightened? Truth is after all so poorly lit" -Rush

Hmm, I think I'm a bad example of the "public" cuz even if I knew something like that about a religious leader, it wouldn't matter to me either way. Sorry if this doesn't help.

BTW, I think a world might work without religion by making some the people pick certain cults instead of religion. I mean, people are always gonna need to believe in something and if the concept of a religion isn't there then... what else is there?
