for those who don't know what Air TV is, or just never found the time to watch it. here is the story line for you.
Yukito is a traveling performer - a wanderer. He survives with only the cloths on his back, a puppet, and a story from his mother - the story of the girl in the sky. He doesn't know who or where she is; only that he must find her.
On the verge of starvation, he is befriended by a young misfit named Misuzu, whose eccentricities serve to hide a troubled home life. Misuzu offers Yukito a place to stay, and in return he listens to her dreams - dreams in which she lives in the sky. To make ends meet, Yukito takes odd jobs from the local doctor, where he meets Kano - another girl with an odd fascination with the sky.
As his search moves forward, Yukito finds the possibilities are numerous as pitfalls. Will he find the girl in the sky? Dose she even exist? The answers change with the breeze. the questions are up in the air.
Characters
Misuzu Kamio
A cheerful, but slightly odd klutz. Misuzu is the first girl Yukito meets, and the one who provides him with a place to stay. She adores dinosaurs and has a habit of saying "Gao," a sound Japanese children associate with dinosaurs, whenever she's upset. Despite her sunny disposition, Misuzu isn't very close to any of her classmates, ans seems desperate for a companion to play with.
Kano Kirihima
"Spunky and energetic, with a joking personality" describes Kano--most of the time that is. Since both her parents have died, she lives with her older sister, the local doctor. Her ability to communicate with the town stray, potato, is a source of confusion to Yukito. Kano wears a yellow ribbon around her wrist at all times and believes that when she is grown , she'll take it off and be able to use magic, though she doesn't know why she thinks that.
Minagi Tohno
A good student and president of the Astronomy Club. Actually, she's its only member. A quiet and polite girl, whose only friend is Michiru, a younger girl who is almost her polar opposite in personality. Like the other girls, she has a secret which Yukito must unravel.
Yukito Kunisaki
A young man in his 20s, Yukito travels about the country. trying to earn money by putting on puppet shows. The interesting thing? He can control his puppet without strings, something his mother taught him before she died. But somehow this fails to impress the local kids... His summer in Kami will alter the fates of three very different girls.
I love this anime. How it was all put together, though the movie was better ^-^ at least that's what I think.
