*SIGH* Don't buy a new species of fish just on the advise of the aquarium store employee before researching it on your own. DUH. I dunno why I made this mistake, I know better. Fish store didn't have what I was looking for and I was impatient. So I say "Well THESE are cute, can I put THEM in with a Betta? They are BUMBLEBEE GOBIES. He told me they would be fine. I proceeded to buy 3 of them, 3 blue eye tetras 6 cherry shrimp and a HUGE snail. I definitely told him the snail was destine for the same tank as well, he even packaged them together.

Well I looked up about the bumble bees AFTER I put them in my tank rolleyes
And apparently they are nasty little fin nipper, who need a brackish set up and live foods. NICE. (oh, and the betta will probably EAT my shrimp too. $2 a piece feeder shrimp. Cool)

But then again, a lot of people on forums wrote that they have had luck with them in fresh tanks, and that they aren't as aggressive as some sources lead you to believe.

So, anyone have any experience with Bumblebee Gobies? And advise?

I've heard there are two different types of bumblebee goby, one for freshwater, one for brackish. I looked them up once because I wanted a tank of them but could not find them. Saw some at a store today and considered them again.

I'd get them their own nano tank. Maybe a 2.5 or a 5, depending on how many you have because they are territorial. If that's not possible, you can always return them to the store.

Yeah, it is pretty confusing. Find someone with Mudskippers and ask them =3

I actually decided to just give it a try and observe closely since I did more reading on them and even though a lot of sources said they were brackish and mean, on a lot of forums I read posts where people were having unexpected luck keeping them in fresh water community tanks. I've seen them in two pet shops now, and both places they were in fresh water & with other species of fish.

Well, I've had three of them in with one male Betta, 2 Kuhli Loaches, a BIG apple snail, and some Cherry Shrimp, and so far everyone seems pretty happy! I'm really happy I gave them a shot, cause they are CUTE little buggers!

Awesome! Let us know how it goes. I was really considering these guys too so your feedback can help my decision. I have no more tank space in the bedroom but I can fit nano tanks in other rooms without my mom getting too mad. Yours are Adorable.

I will definitely keep you updated. They really are a cute little fish....whats funny is they don't just look like bumble bees, the kinda bounce around and swim in a stop-and-go motion that reminds you of bumble bee flight too! Really an endearing little fish.
