Indubitably The place was ******** a charming grin at one of the waitresses, she took the hint to seat herself and collapsed recklessly onto one of the sushi bar stools, accepting a menu and pursing her lips. Oh, it'd been awhile. Jem loved sushi. The Japanese really knew where it was at when it came to cuisine!

Dimitri Obsidian Hiroko's plan really was to go home and cook. Honest. There was nothing as relaxing as making a nice meal after a long day's work. Yes, coming home to an empty house, hotting the pots, and then sitting down to dinner alone was the perfect reprieve.
...really, what on earth was she thinking?!
With nothing in her house to cook with and no patience to go shopping, it was time to find something to take out. Takeout was always good. After scanning the street for a few minutes, she caught sight of a sushi restaurant. Perfect. She was tickled to find the little shop in the first place, and even more so to see that it wasn't crowded. Seated and menu'd, now came the dilemma:
What was she gonna pick?

Indubitably Jem raised an eyebrow as another young woman sat beside her. Besides the two of them, the place was relatively empty [early afternoon on a Monday generally wasn't prime for any establishment]. Leeeeaaaning over in her bright blue tee [with a grinning anthropomorphic orange on it], she tossed Hiroko a grin.
"What're you having? I can't decide. If I was here with a friend, I'd order a TON of stuff and we'd just share it..." A pause, and her brows rose questioningly, turning on the charm.
"You down?" Obviously, she meant to share with her! A complete stranger! The short-haired woman chuckled to herself, grey and green eyes going back to her menu.

Dimitri Obsidian The short, black-haired, Asian-looking but certainly not first generation woman glanced up at the woman next to her. My, this one was...sociable? Hiroko knit her forehead in mild confusion at Jem. Maybe she knew her from somewhere? She was always forgetting people she met. She didn't seem familiar, though...
Miroko didn't respond until a few seconds until after the other woman looked back down at her menu. Leaning over, she asking uncertainly, "Am I...down?" Slang escaped her. She tried to ignore that last part before she asked, "Well, I mean, if you wanna do that, we can get...this lunch special here, maybe?" She pointed in the vague direction of her own menu. Saving money never hurt anyone.

Rown His brother had been wanting sushi, or at least wanting to try something new, so Liam had relented enough to make a promise of either taking Asher with him to go...or going in and checking it out on his own. Seeing as Asher was in school usually when Liam had his free time the teenager made his way towards the restaurant he'd heard about through gossip at school, girls always seeming to know good places, and he paused at the door before he peered in.
People were inside, so that meant they were open, right? He wasn't nervous to go inside, the door moving as he let it open softly, and for a moment the teenager just stood silent as he surveyed his surroundings.

Indubitably "Yeah, down to grub, girl..."
Jem was briefly distracted from replying completely by the sound of twinkling bells--Someone entering the restaurant-- and she smiled briefly as she happened to make eye contact with him. Male, teenager... Younger than her.
Turning her attention to the asian woman beside her at the sushi bar, she nodded. "Yeah, why not. What's the special? We should definitely get some nigiri orders, and maybe an inside out roll or two? I bet they have awesome handrolls here..." A grin as she thought of all the sushi she loved to eat. "What's your favorite?"

Hiroko raised her head to look at the newcomer, too. She hoped the influx of people stopped with him; she wasn't feeling especially social, and having a restauraunt filled with people wasn't really part of her plan for the day.
And what to do about this other woman? Well, there was no sense in being rude... Still, this woman was awfully forward. Maybe it wasn't too big of a deal, though. "I, well, I like unagi best." She quickly named the only sushi dish she knew the Japanese name for, wanting to seem more educated than she really was. (What a sorry excuse for a Japanese person she had shaped out to be.)

Rown Liam made his way towards the counter, not really greeted, but he didn't seem to mind. Not everyone had the manners to always say something, but at least they'd looked at him? He couldn't be picky when out in public, he could enforce manners at home. No need to worry.
As he finally made it to the counter he took a seat and sat silently, turning to glance at the two women. His dark brown hair seemed to shimmer silver for a moment as he looked them over, but it quickly passed as he picked up a menu.
"I wonder if Asher wants something spicy. . ."

Indubitably "Awesome."
Jem was indeed quite forward, in many ways. It was hard to be a modern gal if you weren't forward! Especially one on the Board of Directors of a company. Jem was young, rolling in dough, and engaged, and she was damn spunky.
"Japanese food hits the spot any day." Glancing back down at the menu, her facial expression brightened further [if possible. "We get some rice and miso soup with the special, too! This is great. I think I'll get an order of chicken katsu..."
She was definitely ready to eat.
When the waitress came by, she asked for the special, explaining that they were sharing, as well as placing several other sushi orders. For a drink, she got a Sapporo beer. All Japanese, even in beverage.
Now turning her attention to the young man on her other side, she nodded hello. "I'm Jem." She announced to the two of them. "Spicy, huh?" Her gaze flicked to her own menu. What sorts of spicy things did they have tonight...?

Dimitri Obsidian It probably would have been polite for her to introduce herself right after her new friend had, but Hiroko was briefly preoccupied with what to get to drink. She wanted to show that she knew just as much about Japanese food and cuisine as this other chick who wasn't even Asian...even if she did. But she was thirsty, too. What if she got something she didn't like? Then she'd have spent money on something nasty and she'd still be thirsty. No, it was probably better to get...
"Just water for me, thanks," she said to the waitress, relaxing after figuring out how to solve this very perplexing dilemma. She hadn't even heard the mention of spicy food, she was so caught up with thinking about what to drink! She did things like that all the time, always over-analyzing and over-thinking. At least it was useful at work.
"I'm Hiroko, by the way," she tagged on as an afterthought a few seconds later, glancing from her left to her right so that she wasn't excluding either person.

The third time was a charm.
Atsuko had beginning to frequent the sushi restaurant more and more after her very first trip. It was a unique place, one that she felt drawn to, so how could she not go back? Never before had she felt this way toward a place like that. As she pushed open the door, she couldn't help but smile to herself. This would be her third trip back to GoGo Sushi, and Atsuko knew it wouldn't be her last.
When she entered, the high schooler noticed something different right away. It was more busier than usual. A red-haired woman, an Asian girl, and a boy that looked to be around Toshiro's age were frequenting the shop. It was nice to see more people, and although she didn't want to be rude by interrupting conversation, she couldn't help but want to talk to them. Perhaps she could even make friends with some of the people, if she came to the shop enough? That would be nice.
She had never had another friend before, so having someone to talk to other than her fiance would be a nice, even refreshing change of pace.

Miyuki was almost skipping for her daily trip to GoGo Sushi. She always went there after her college classes, but she almost always got off the regular menu. Yesterday though, she'd gotten off the special menu, and taken it home for some reason. Her favorite chef had just smiled and told her to 'have fun'. It was laying forgotten and sleeping in her fridge right about now, as she opened the door to the shop happily humming. She fluffed out her high-school girl uniform, a bad habit she had, wearing her old uniform when she went to university now. Wrapping a strand of her long black hair around her finger thoughtfully, she cocked her head, noticing there were a lot more patrons than usual. She smiled to herself, just more people to talk to!
Now poor Ruriko wouldn't have to listen to Miyuki chatter on and on about stupid things today while the poor chef was working to fill out orders. Not that Miyu figured the chef minded. Besides, it gave Ruriko the chance to pretend she was actually working. Trotting to the table, she smiled and presently sat down next to a guy that seemed a little bit older than her nineteen happy years. Leaning over to smile at the entire group, she waved happily.
"Hey there! Any of you come here often? I come just about every day! My names' Miyuki Tomoe, but everybody calls me Miyu. Hey, does anyone know if Ruri's working today? Oh, no, I'd suppose not, or there'd be a lot more yelling for her to get stuff done, wouldn't there? Oh well! I'm just fine talking to all of you, though you'll have to excuse me, since I get a little rambly sometimes, and tend to slip into verbal daydreams without even noticing it!" she chattered giddily, giggling at the end of her speech and putting a delicate hand to her face. She had that 'oh, silly me' look on her features, and it was actually quite adorable and becoming for her.
Looking at the regular menu once more, she skimmed it and wondered what she'd get today. Maybe some ramen and boston rolls would be a good idea? Oh! And then she could get a bottle of Ramune! That was her favorite. Strawberry Kiwi Ramune to be exact. It was her anti-drug. Very much like American's chugged down those 'Monster' things. Pursing her lips cutely, she cocked her head. No, not ramen today. Takoyaki and some Salmon nigiri sounded good though. Yeah. She'd get that with her Ramune. Closing her menu just as quickly as she'd opened it, she looked to the rest of the group expectantly like an excited puppy.
"So! What're all of your names!?" she chirruped.

"Hiroko?" She resisted the urge to instantly assign a nickname, and nodded, distracted by the tinkling door bells once more.
What was this? National Cute Demure Asian Girl Week? Jem made a clicking noise with her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she slid from the barstool. Hiroko would hopefully loosen up with the arrival of their meals, and the teenage boy would probably get talkative.
Still, she was a social creature, and sitting around waiting for that to happen wasn't her style. Instead, she excused herself, strolling across the room with her Sapporo in hand to examine the fancy fishtank toward the entrance, a warm grin sent Atsuko's way.
"Here for the lunch special? It seems to be popular today." Shouldn't a girl her age be in school...? Ah, well. She'd been mostly homeschooled herself. Only seconds later, another asian schoolgirl flounced in [What the HELL?!] and began speaking at a millionwordsaminute, in contrast to the two girls before her. Smirking a bit, she thumbed over to the bar, raising her brows at Atsuko.
"Want to join our little party?" Without waiting for an answer, she wandered back, grinning at the hyper teen and holding out a small hand. "You can call me Jem. A regular, huh? The sushi must be good, then."

Miyuki was enraptured at the invitation to conversation and company from this 'Jem' person. She seemed interesting, and her accent sounded American. She smiled. She'd never been friends with an American before, but there was a first for everything, right? By the way the girl was just as straightforward and social as Miyu, the hyperactive Asian college student KNEW they'd get along swimmingly. Oh, wouldn't it be fun to make regulars out of all the people here? Then she'd ALWAYS have friends to talk to after class! Taking Jem's hand enthusiastically, Miyu shook it about a million miles an hour, and then leaped up and hugged Jem. Putting a finger to her lips cutely, she cocked her head, all her hair falling to one side as she blinked in confusion.
"Jem? As in Jemstone? That is soooooooo cute! And yeah, the sushi here is GREAT! It's a cute, convenient little place to come when you have the time, but you have to be careful. They have two menus. I'm not really sure what the difference is, but I usually stick to the regular. Oh oh, what are you here for by the way? You sound American. You know, I've never known an American before. So it's not true that all of you are blonde haired and blue eyed and like to swear a lot, and drink beer?! My Otoo-san always said that if I ever married an American boy, he'd disown me they were so bad. But you seem totally fine! How long have you been here in Japan? Do you have a boyfriend yet?
Oooooh, I bet you do! Some really romantic guy with soft, dark, wavy hair and a dashing smile that sweeps you off your feet and carries you home bridal style, no doubt!" she fawned over Jem, giggling here and there, and then practically swooning with an air of romanticism when she started talking about Jem's romantic status. Not that Miyuki wasn't trying to harness herself in and try not to be a nuisance. She was trying. She just got carried away daydreaming about people. Her mother had always told her to be a romance novelist. Miyuki was okay with that, but she was going to school for art and music right now. Maybe she'd go back for English next year and add it onto her schedule?
Either way, she ushered Jem to a seated position and sat down next to her instead, switching places from before. She could only smile happily and sway a little from side to side on her perch of the chair, and wondered what this new American friend would tell her.

Jem's grin was gigantic and she blew at her bangs, pushing up her sunglasses so they rested on the top of her head. It was interesting when she ran into people a bit like herself.
"Kinda, only with a 'J' instead of a 'G'." A laugh as the girl continued to ramble. It wasn't hard for the fast-speaking redhead to follow her speech. "I do swear and drink beer, but nope, all natural red, drapes and carpet!" It didn't occur to her that the girl wouldn't pick up on the slang and she continued lifting the Sapporo to show the girl the Japanese beer, so caught up she didn't think to pause and let someone ELSE in on the conversation.
"I'm..." Jem didn't exactly have a standard nationality, so she ignored that, continuing. "A boyfriend?" A louder laugh and she shook her head without shame. "No, I have a girlfriend, though. She is dark-haired, with a great smile, and so tall!"
Jem was more of the romancer, though, with flowers and random gifts. It was a good relationship.
