Seems like we have some experienced players around here from what I've been reading, so I thought it'd be nice if they want to give advice to little folk like me sweatdrop

Anyways, I just wanted to make a thread where people could ask for help and maybe some of the veterans could come answer.

For starters, I need help with Eiyashou! (Imperishable Night in English?) I just recently started this game, and I never seem to get enough time orbs D=

I've read the basics on the whole 80% human/youkai deal (attack/graze), but are there any tips out there?

Thanks in advance if you answer!

err... little folk?
I thought that little folk were people who couldn't beat easy modes...
In fact, Gensokyo.org 's current poll even states that 30% of people fit this group...

Anyways, I really don't have anything to say for myself since haven't tried out the Attack vs Graze patterns myself. Mainly because I'm too lazy to care about that when I have many (many!!!) other games to beat first.

All I could really say is that when it relates to help trying to play better, I usually head people off to the Imageboard or the tatics section of that forum. Mainly because those are the two places where one can find the biggest group of touhou fans actively talking. And also where some of the best tips on "overall playing" I got.

Getting their attention might take some time though.

However, if anyone in here has any actual insight to give in time orb collecting, go ahead and post it!

Here, I'll tell you what I know of Eiyashou.

There are two forms to a team, either human or demon....Or half-human and ghost for the case of Youmu and Yuyuko and stoof.
Human and demon mode, which is focused unless you're going solo, could help you get points.
My general rules of thumb is unfocused during the stage, focused during the boss battles and wait for all the "slaves" to come out of a monster before killing the main one, because the rest would burst into time orbs. For collecting time orbs, Youmu appears to be best because her gauge is half on each side which means you can switch from human to phantom and vice versa more quickly.
Explanation for why is that you can get three times the time orbs for grazing against the boss' danmaku if you're full demon. If you're full human during the stage, you can gain time orbs for shooting the enemies.

Bombing in focused mode makes you full demon, the unfocused makes you go full human, for quick changing. If you're not particularly good at the game, you might want to save the bombs, though, so you don't die and use a continue.

The game starts at 11pm, and game over is at 5am.
Five stages, then the final that doesn't require time points. If you collect enough time orbs on every stage its required, then the game would require two and a half hours. The rest could be used as continues then, if that ever happened. But if the time is 4:30, you have no more continues, and if you aren't at the final stage by then, you've lost. Game over.

Otherwise, play on! : D

The only final word I've beaten is Sakuya's Deflation World which is comparatively easy to everybody else's I've encountered, so my advice except for what is cold-hard facts....might not be good. XD

But my favorite character to use is solo-Youmu, because I'm not good at time orb collection without her.

Pfft.

I can't even beat Keine or Alice on STB. >>

I'm "decent" at the other games, but I can't seem to get far on STB at all.

You can change from window to full screen using the custom application in the folder. Not sure about the patch thing though. Any other info you can give on that?

How many here have been able to beat Yuyuko in PCB? ^^;
I usually lose after her first spellcard. :<

Might anyone have any suggestions for Patchouli? Her stage is so freaking long that I always end up using a continue. And then I have either one or none (due to Sakuya's knives...)to fight Remi.~ TwT

Practice. I can't give you any suggestions because Patchy's spellcards have no hidden catch or strategy. At least not in EoSD. (Her StB spellcards are the opposite.)
