Dr John Smith My issue with the last Easter episode is that U.N.I.T. could have easily sent someone through that wormhole. If the bus could go through why couldn't U.N.I.T. have sent something like a car (obviously a car with armor) through? It makes no sense. That's what I was thinking. Something like a tank.

Richard_Swift Dr John Smith Also, the doctor is no longer taking on companions? He said "never again" but then what's happening this upcoming season? I'm actually even MORE excited now because everything will be so new. Bit of a spoiler... The final couple of specials will see Wilf established as a full, official, honest-to-gosh companion. So presumably he does something to change the Doctor's mind. HEE! With the new guy so young, that could be perfect! A little role-reversal of the old school style . . . BTW, how do you know all these things, Richard? Are you, like, Steven Moffatt under a secret on-line identity? wink

ThPriestess HEE! With the new guy so young, that could be perfect! A little role-reversal of the old school style . . . It would, but sadly I get the impression that Wilf'll just be around for Davies/Tennant's last two. The Smith/Moffat era is going to be something of a clean slate. Talking about 'old school', wasn't it one of Tom Baker's ideas to have a companion who was an elderly man? Not that the producers ever went for it. Or his idea of having a talking cabbage. ThPriestess BTW, how do you know all these things, Richard? Are you, like, Steven Moffatt under a secret on-line identity? wink Nah, I'd be way wittier if I was. And this particular little spoiler I know from here... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7987179.stm(at about 1:40)

Yeah, I remember TB talking about the above mentioned concept along with a monster that chased folks really, really slowly . . . BTW, I still think you're pretty darned witty for this crowd (that probably just says something about this crowd, rofl ). And Eirwyn tells me you once co-authored a DW novel. Is this true?

Hey...I like this crowd!
And, well, I didn't really co-author a Doctor Who novel, but I did get to co-plot one. I helped come up with the characters, the storyline and, more than anything, the trippy New Wave SF BIG concepts. Then the other guy had the hard and dedicated work of actually writing the thing.
So my name's not on the cover of the book, but right at the front I've got a "From a story by..." credit, and right at the back I've got a little 'About the Other Author' biog.
The biggest kick though is just when I look through reference books, or the Doctor Who Wikia and catch mention of ideas that I cooked up - just knowing that a few nuggets of my imagination have ended up as a tiny part of the Doctor's life feels good. God knows how people who've made a substantial contribution to Who go about thier days without ther hearts exploding.

I'm looking forward to the new Master episodes. I loved the s3 ones. I'm not sure how good it'll be if Davies's left, though. T-T

Richard_Swift God knows how people who've made a substantial contribution to Who go about their days without their hearts exploding. What you don't know is that they don't actually have human hearts anymore because their original hearts exploded. They run around on clock-work hearts made of gold. heart

Loved the Utopia arch. There also seems to be hints that the "Midnight Monster" may return...its in the Waters of Mars trailer. you're welcome to steal the pics.
