Reiterei took in this knowledge that she was given. There was the King, his queen, one princess, and two princes. They all had such royal sounding names; especially Siddhartha and Naiosalas.

She then listened to Aprio's answer about the ceremony, and with a rush of relief, she replied, "Yes. I'm ready."

"Alright then..." Aprio picked up the Ceremonial Stick in her jaws and - with a bow of her head - presented it to the King. It was so exciting to be adding another servant to the ranks...

Syoto snatched the stick from Aprio's job, taking it in his own mouth importantly. He raised an eyebrow in Aprio's direction.

"Ah! Yes. Kneel, if you please, Reiterei," Aprio nodded at Reiterei, "and, do you have any... skills? What do you excell in, that is? Hunting? Caring for young ones? Fishing?... Knowing that will help his majesty think of your royal title."

Aprio smiled self-consciously.
"According to Mistress Salano, I am Lady Aprio, Handmaid and Caretaker of her Majesty, Princess Salano..."

Reiterei lowered her knees to the ground before the King. She lowered her head to look at the ground, and did not raise it as she replied, "I.. well... I can hunt. And I can fight pretty well, so I guess that I could guard." She thought some more, "I can fish, too, as most dragons can. But I've never really met too many children, so I don't know how good of a caretaker I'd be..."

Reiterei blushed slightly as she realized that she was rambling during an important ceremony. She then said with more confidence, "So, I can hunt, fish, guard, or prepare food."

Syoto straightened until he was as tall as possible without standing on his back legs. He raised the Ceremonial Stick in his jaws and tapped Reiterei on both shoulders... Just a bit harder than neccesary. Then passed the Ceremonial Stick on to Aprio, who accepted it in her jaws, looking proud to be allowed the honor of holding it.

"Lady Reiterei, Royal Guard, Slayer of deer, Scourge of Fish," Syoto began in a regal voice, "I hereby induct you into the pack of the Monarch. May you serve the king and all his family faithfully to the end of your days." He scowled at her. "And may you never again pilfer your king's food."
