While Stormwind was content with fishing in the stinky old pond, Savannah wanted something better to do. She was tired of slipping on algae covered stones and swallowing mud trying to snap at the little fishes on the water bed. When her mother wasn't looking, the little dragon slipped off, in her best sneaky still and escaped once more into the woods.
Today was different, though. Not only did she have to be extra careful that her mother wasn't following, but Savannah had to be wary of the approaching thunder storm. It crackled off in the distance with such fury that she couldn't help, but shiver. The sky was turning dark, but that was just fine with her. She'd played in the dark before and she could do it again.
Though, last time she did have Hoku.....No, she lifted her head high and rainbow claws dug into the ground as she trotted triumphantly away from home. Even as the light drizzle started around her, Savannah didn't let anything stop her. However, when her paws slipped on the muddy ground and she went skidding off the hillside into the river, she was thrown for a loop. " Momma! " The little one cried out before she was swept under the current. Pain rippled through her tiny lungs as she tried to gather up as much air as possible while he body bobbed in and out, the stream carrying her further away.

Gabriel had parted from Salano's company not that long ago and was making his was through the darkening woods wanting to find some shelter when he heard it. A terrified cry of another dragon. Rushing as quickly as he could through the woods, he didn't worry about being silent as was his normal custom but focused on speed not wanting to be too late.
Breaking out of the woods Gabriel came to the river and looked around hurriedly, he finally spotted who he had heard. It was a young dragon being swept away by the river and if he didn't do something it could mean trouble for her. With only the passing thought of, What is with me and finding female youths needing help? Gabriel jumped into the water and swam with the current to reach her.
Grabbing hold of her neck, Gabriel began the harder task of fighting the current to get them to the side. It took a bit and Gabriel managed to get them to safety and on dry land. Gabriel let go of his hold of the young female and collasped on the ground, breathing much harder then normal and his eyes closed, he asked, "You...okay?"

I'm dying. After talking with Laurus about the stupid death of being starved to death in a bush, this just seemed horrible in comparison. She would have rather been in the bush, where she could have at least breathed in air for the last time.
Just when Savannah thought she'd bitten the dust, something grabbed hold of her and she was mutely aware of being drug out of the river's grasp. She was so terrified; scared of the water and this thing that had her. It had a grip stronger than her momma on a bad day and when they were on land, she got enough of a look at the person to realize that it was a he before collapsing.
The rain pelted down around them, beating into the back of her soggy head as she sputtered for air, coughing up the water that had seeped into her lungs. She turned to him, panting and shivering, to nod weakly.

With his eyes shut he couldn't see the nod so slowly Gabriel opened his eyes and looked over. She seemed to be alright just a little shaken but what to do now? He didn't know this area very well and he didn't know how far down the river she had been taken and where her family was or even if she was alone.
When his breathing had finally evened out, Gabriel decided to ask, "We should get out of this storm. Do you know where we are and if your close to home? "

Savannah turned her forlorn eyes to the trees. Nothing seemed familiar and if anything, it was as terrifying as the water. Everything looked so much bigger here and when the thunder clapped, she whimpered. Going out on her own didn't seem like such a good idea anymore.
" I don't know where we are, " Savannah admitted, her voice cracking as tears threatened to fall. " I've never been here before. " Little white paws tucked in tight to their matching body. The stranger's body glowed creepily with each new streak of lightning, but he was the only help she had, so she would try to cooperate.

Gabriel sighed and gave a tired nod. He been afraid of that but hopefully she hadn't gotten dragged down the river to far and if they just followed it up they could find where she belonged or at least some shelter until the storm passed.
"That's okay, you'll be okay. We just need to follow the river up is all. It dragged you down so it makes sense you wouldn't recolonize the area. I'm Gabriel and I will get you home..."

His words did little to comfort the little dragon. Savannah nodded meekly, sniffling to hide her tears as long as possible. Today sucked so bad. "Your re-really optimistic, Gabriel. " Little blue eyes looked up curiously at him, a small smile peeping out in the darkness. "I'm Savannah and I really hope you really can get me home."
Hell, if he could even get her back to someone she knew at all she'd be happy. A friend or a warm face would be enough to calm her frazzled nerves.

"Don't worry...I don't think I got your name. "
Gabriel started in a calming voice, "but I promise that I wont just leave you alone unless we find you back to your home."
He really didn't understand why he was having all these interruptions in his search for his sister but there was no way he could just abandon the young dragon.

Savannah frowned and tilted her head, confusion breaking through the shower of fear shaking her spine. "You didn't get my...but, I told you, its Savannah."
Though she questioned his mental stability at this point, the youngster clung to the inner circle of privacy surrounding Gabriel. She tried to smile for him, though it came out as more of a grimace with the rain pelted down on her eyelids. "Thank you, Gabby. "
Nicknames were always fun. They made people more real to Savannah and not as scary; something she desperately needed to do with him. She'd only met one full grown male outside of her family pack and he was the complete opposite of this one. Gabriel was nice though, which added points, but still....Ever cautious she would be.

"So you did, my mind must have been on other things." Gabriel said responded, only cringing slightly when she called him Gabby. "I don't think I've ever been called Gabby before, maybe you can call me Gabe or something else?"
Shaking some water from his fur, Gabriel looked around hoping for some sign for which direction to go. It would have been so much easier if the rain didn't block his sight so much.
