Welcome to Hogsmeade Village, the largest all-wizarding community in England!
Whether you’re just vacationing, shopping with friends, a student visiting from Hogwarts, or a family looking for a new town to put down some roots - Hogsmeade has something just for you! With the lowest crime rate in the Wizarding World, countless shops and services to provide for your every magical need, and a wealth of unique real estate possibilities, Hogsmeade has become home to more magical families than any other community in the United Kingdom.
Founded by Hengest of Woodcroft after he was forced to flee his home to escape violent muggles, the first buildings in Hogsmeade were erected around the same time Hogwarts School of Witchcraf and Wizardry was being constructed. It is because the village is placed so close to the school that the town became a tourist attraction in the first place; Hogwarts itself allowed students to visit the village, student-oriented shops - including those offering sweets and Quidditch memorabilia - blooming to life overnight as “Hogsmeade Weekends” gained popularity in the 1950s. With the second downfall of the Dark Lord, Hogsmeade became a center for the magical community, its streets much safer than those of Diagon Alley; businesses expanded, and the town lines began to stretch to accommodate a surge of families choosing to get a fresh start among the safety of their fellow wizards. As a matter of fact, in the past two decades, Hogsmeade has doubled its size, and tripled its population.
Hogsmeade has also takes great pride in its businesses, boasting an impressive number of shops and services, now unmatched even by Diagon Alley. It is the perfect location to launch a new business, or to pursue a new occupation; local stores, such as Honeyduke’s Sweets, have reported record earnings during 2008.
So stroll down our secure streets, enjoy and icecream cone, and purchase a new pointed hat - maybe talk to a realtor about relocating if you have some free time during your visit... Hogsmeade is here to provide for all of your magical needs. Just ignore the odd grunting and goat noises coming from behind Aberforth’s pub... he’s just not feeling well.
