Well I know I posted this a long time ago but does anyone else take there dogs to the dog park. There are3 different dog parks and 2 regular parks we take our dogs to. We had a bad experience at the dog park once though. I took Abby to the dog park down the street from me and so she was minding her own business. There was this male dog causing a bunch of trouble and all the owners were having issues with the dog. Well he was going around humping other dogs. Well he comes up to Abby and tries it well its scared the s*** out of her and she turned around and braked then like the abby she is came running over to me scared to death. I immediately put her leash on and took her home. The owners of the other dog didn't even do anything. I wanted so bad to tell them off but I couldn't find them and just left because Abby was freaking out every dog that approached her she barked at.
Well It was about a year before I tried it again but this time we had Bo. Bo was about 5 months old and I brought him there for some socialization. Abby was still weary and stayed by me, but Bo had a blast. I had him on the leash for a while but when there was only about 2 other dogs I let him off lead and he did great. He came when I called him and eventually Abby decided to go off and play with Bo and the other dogs.
Well anyways I don't go to the other 2 dog parks that often because the one I take them to is about a 5 minute walk and it's on the same street we live on. Anyways one of the regular parks we go to is right down the street also buts more like 2 minute walk down the street. They have a fenced in skate park where I let them play off lead if there's no one else on it. The other park we go to is buy my grand parents and the soccer field I play on. Well we can let them off leash there and there's a huge lake that Abby likes to swim in. There is also a hiking trail that leads to a water fall. It's an awesome park. Well we took Abby and Bo there when Bo was about 5 months and Abby was having a blast swimming and chasing ducks. She didn't bother them though she would just chase them and come back when we called her. Well Abby got to chasing one and wouldn't give up. The duck was in there water with is family. There were a few ducklings. but when one of the adult ducks veared off she followed it instead and he took her out to the middle of the lake then she turned around when she got back she was tired. We had been yelling and calling her but no. So we started laughing because we thought the duck was trying to drown her. But after that she hasn't bothered those ducks since. Bo absolutely hates water but wanted so bad to chase Abby in it. Bo went i the water but immediately came out. Baths are horrible with him
So we have had some good experiences and some bad ones. So wat r ur experiences with dog parks

I normally take the danes to the one and only dog park once or twice per week. But, right now I have crested puppies so I cannot risk them bringing home parvo (carrying), so they haven't gone for a while.
There are always cranky owners that are afraid of my dogs because they are big, and there are people that have aggressive that cause agressive behaviors in other dogs, and then there are people/dogs that I hit it off with and whose dogs get along well with my own. Now that I have multiple danes they will always have the other to play with...but the socialization they get at the dog park is SO good for them psychologically that I really can't wait until the crested pups are sold or have all their shots.
