The Escaran way involves speciallized training based on occupation. Here I will note the things that each occupation focuses on. It will likely remain a work in progress.

Warrior: The warrior path leads to a lonely life. They are willing to sacrifice all for a succesful battle. They are a step above the soldier. They learn all skills that are used in martial arts, including training in all weapons, specialized training in their weapon of choice, combative magic, healing, strategy, horse riding, dragon riding, and many others.

Soldier: These martial Escarans focus on learning a few key weapons, such as lance, sword, bow, etc. They also learn strategy, and other skills that will be vital in the position they will move to. For instance, a soldier who focuses on unmounted sword work won't learn very much mounted lance skills.

White Knight: These warriors are trained heavily in sword and lance. They are also trained as calvalry. Most notably, however, they are also taught extensive healing magic.

Archer: The name says it all. Those who choose archery become a master of ranged combat. There are truly to areas in this occupation; sport archers and combat archers.

Mage: They learn all areas of magic. They learn to to wield magic not only in combat, but in ways to make life easier. They can work for the community, or even become experimental mages or crafters of magical goods. They often become quite wealthy if they go into non-combative casting.

Healer: Unlike mages, healers learn to wield magic that can heal. They also learn mundane healing. Their magic can become potent enough to heal even those who are already passing through death's door. They learn how to resurrect the fallen, though this is only an option if the patient is newly dead.

Dragonrider: The dragonriders meet their dragon right away. They go through their training together. They learn to fight mounted, and favor sword, bow, and spear. They also learn strategy, and non-combative skill such as transport.

Sentinel: These martial Escarans learn law as well as combat. They become guards, militia men, and other similar roles. They have no problem finding fobs, if nothing else.

Spymaster: These mysterious experts learn to gather information. They are trained in stealth, as well as techniques to obtain information. Furthermore, they learn to take down foes quickly and effectively. They can continue from this occupation to become snipers.

Alchemist: Like mages, Alchemists favor experimentation and crafting. They focus on creating potions and materials through use of special materials rather than through magic means.

Polititian: The are often scorned by the warriors. They learn law, manipulation, as well as limited strategy. They often choose to be trained in a sword of some kind.

Entertainer: Entertainers are what the title says. They often travel from place to place, earning their money, or often stay, through song, dance, poetry, or storytelling. While they avoid combat, they are often skilled with graceful weapons and knives. They tend to study the jian, and become fighteningly skilled with throwing knives. They also tend to learn illusionary magic, and sometimes carry a magic potion or two. Sometimes a third in case a patron becomes agressive. Lionian entertainers almost always learn what is called "The Ballad of Twilight." It's tune is almost identical to the song "Lothlorien" on the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack.

Note: I posted this to give a general idea. There are far more occupations than this in Escar, and one need not be as major a role as here. You could even RP a leatherworker, cook, or stablehand if you wish, its all up to you!
