Allein started towards her cave; towards her new home, and her recently caught meal, "I figured that I would stay here for now." She turned to face him. "I need to do this. I can't blame these children, so I need to raise them right."
She nodded her head at Bryce, before fetching the bird and dragging it into the cave. "I will need someone to hatch them with me. I'll come for you when the time comes." She walked to the back of the cave, without looking back at him.
Bryce understood. Allein was a loner; she always would be. He also knew that he would never meet another like her, and didn't try to deny that to himself.
He nodded back to her and started up the path, back to his territory, but her unexpected last remarks caused him to turn his head once more. There was still hope.
Bryce broke out in a full run, back to his land; thoughts of what would come next flooding his mind.
