Ahoy, matey!
User Image

Pet Name: Kaev
Owner Name: noxilicious
Gender: Male
Desired Rank: Crewman

Bio: Technically, he is the property of Jane A. Beauright. An uptight business woman who lives in the city of Waya. She bought Kaev to be a showdog, but when the plan went sour, she boarded him at Sky High Kennels, in the heart of the city. That was almost a year ago, she hasn’t visited him since. Because he absolutely can’t stand the purebred prisses at the kennel, Kaev has become an escape artist, choosing instead to wander the streets for as long as he can before going back to the kennel before one of the twoleggers discovers him missing. This way of life has brought upon him a rebellious personality. Kind and gentlemanly to others, but always ready to break the rules.

Reason for Joining: In his wanderings, he has met dogs with more personality in one paw than every dog back in his kennel combined. He’s had puppies with a sweet sometimes scatter brained cocker spaniel . He’s explored the city twice over on his own. But every time, no matter how well the day goes, he still has to return to his kennel at night. Well, he’s done with that. Done with the stuck up show dogs that look down their noses at him, done with an owner who could care less about him. Done with a life he doesn’t want to lead. So this time, when he escaped, he left for good. Left the city that held him bound and harbored ill memories. Instead he wandered to the lake, had heard stories of a pirate gang that resided there. Pirates. The very idea intrigued him to no end. After all, how much more rebellious could you get?

Pet Name: Venicia
Owner Name: Mental Ballad
Gender: Female
Desired Rank: Crew-woman

Bio: Being born in Italy, Venicia has an Italian accent that after growing up, she has yet to shake off. She grew more confident as she grew older and transformed into something of a "tomboy". Venicia won't hesitate to defend what little she does care about and is rarely ever attached to anyone, be they dog, cat or human. Considering she is a foreigner, she talks about "the homeland" nostalgically.

Reason for Joining: Bored of the mainland, Venicia intends to set out for sea in hopes of returning to her homeland to visit (I honestly don't care if this happens or not. ) Given that Venicia is a foreigner, she knows much about treasures from far-away lands and could offer some interesting insight in foreign battle techniques.

Entry for Doctor

Name: Dario "Doc"
Gender: Male

Personality: A caring dog who hates to see anyone in pain, but hates to see someone be stupid even more. He'll of course take care of any injuried creature that comes to him, but if the injury was gained from doing something foolish, Doc finds himself liable to be just a tad bit rougher with his treatment. Doc loves pups and he loves to spin a good tale for them. If there's one thing you should never do, it's go to Doc for the truth. After all, his favorite tale includes the Captain falling from the sky to land on the leader of a great enemy to defeat him.

Prompt Response:
Doc paced nevously, glancing up to the sun every minute or so. This wasn't good. If a raid ran late, it mean that something had happened and the raid was late. Very late. The shorthair stopped suddenly and raised his ears up as he caught sound of their return. He knew it. The darkly colored dog ran forward as he noticed one of the raiders being supported by another, limping along besides the rest.

"What happened?" He called as he grew close, his quick golden eyes running over the injuried. A broken leg no doubt. "Come, come. Lay down over here." Doc ordered as he nodded to a clear spot of grass.

The injuried dog, a muddy colored mutt, whimpered as he awkwardly lay down on his side, his broken leg on his upper side. "I stepped on a loose rock as I was running. Fell wrong." He managed to get out as he closed his eyes from the pain, his tail between his leg.

Doc frowned but nodded. "We must learn to watch where we step from now on, hmm?" He stated firmly as he stepped back to gather his herbs from his supply box. It was really an old lunchbox that he'd found one day lying on the beach, but it made a useful carrying kit. "You need to eat this. It'll knock you out for a bit, but at this point I'm sure you can use the rest." The male explained as he pulled out some chamomile and offered it to the mutt.

Soon his patient was asleep, his wound numb, and Doc began to gently set the bone. He took a straight and sturdy branch and with a roll of bandages that Doc had had someone bring back for him on a raid, he bound the leg in it's 'cast'. The mutt would have to be watched to make sure everything healed right, but Doc was sure that he'd be fine. Satisfied that his job was well done, he flipped his supply kit closed and set it back in it's proper niche and lay down on a warm rock he'd designated as his own, soon falling asleep himself.

Entry for Quartermaster

Name: Judico Argos
Gender: Male
Breed/Species: Shorthair

Personality: Bitter, rational, and rather blunt, Judico's personality can easily mislead someone to believe he's a total a*****e. Those who have gotten to know him, however, have seen past the scars that haunt from him his younger days, and find him to be completely just and fair (despite any consequences that might be brought upon him).

Prompt Response:

"You're not in charge of the whole island, a*****e! I don't answer to you!"

"Oh, well look at that! The little pup thinks he's got authority... How cute... Why don't you go back where you came from, mutt? Just swim across that lake and never look back."

"Why don't you?"

"Why don't I rip that dirty, little mouth of yours right off your God damn face?"

Judico's ears picked up the commotion from his perch beneath a humongous, drooping willow. The brief moment of tranquility he'd been so pleasantly enjoying had been sucked away from him in an immeasurable instant.

"You've got to be kidding..." he seethed, standing up and trotting down the hill. Since the captain had been admitting multiple more members to the crew, a lot of the newbies had been trying to prove themselves worthy to shoot up through the ranks.

Ignorant fools...

Of course, as expected, these little contests led only to more and more conflict, and eventually the tensions between the youth would build up to the point where fights would break out. This was the third fight this week.

And it was Wednesday.

As usual, a crowd was gathered on each side of the yapping opponents, cheering on their undeserving champion without any concern for the consequences of their actions. It was disgusting to the old dog that everyone was so... so blind. Now, because of their blatant arrogance, Argos would have to interfere. Such was his duty.

"What the HELL is going on here?!" he demanded, roaring at the two much smaller, inexperienced members of the gang.

"Erh... w-..."

"I want a straight answer immediately, before I throw both of you into the water!"

His eyes were cold and unforgiving, yet somehow the ones being reprimanded couldn't remove themselves from his harsh gaze.

"Well, he said," one began to accuse, gesturing to his counterpart with a stiff paw, "That I'm not worthy of being here, and that they don't need all of us 'new folk'."

"Damn straight," the debater rebuted, trying to not seem startled by Judico's enraged interruption. "You and your rag-tag pack of mongrels can find your own island. We don't need you here, eating up our food and soaking up our sunshine."

"Enough!" the judicator shouted gruffly, causing a few of the pups to whimper and cower. He bent his knees to get down to the level of the arguers, then stated very clearly, "I don't give a cat's a** what either of you think. This is a brotherhood; once accepted, you're always a part of the family."

He rose and snarled at everyone who had been participating.

"Listen up, all of you! Nobody gives a damn where you're from or what you're doing here. If you're a pirate, you're with us 'til the end. If I hear one more word of this traitorous crap, you'll all be gator-food. Do you understand me?"

The group was silent, and a few canines began trying to slowly creep away from the scene. Judico was not satisfied.

"I said," he yelled even louder, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?"

There were multiple howls from the swashbucklers, ears flattened against the heads of the frightened.

"That's what I thought. Now scram, you two, and don't ever let me catch you so much as arguing again." They nodded, and with his work done, Judico turned around and began heading back up to his special place beneath the willow.

Another day's work done...

(I apologize for the length... hopefully you enjoyed reading it, at least.)

Entry for Doctor

Name: Kayson (means the healer) Kay for short.
Gender: Female

Personality: Having grown up with nothing but brothers Kay is use to rough play and words, she doesn’t shy down around men, and she is tough when she needs to be. That being said he caring side comes out more and more when those around her are injured. Because of all the rough play when she was young, she mastered doctoring skills early on and has only improved them as she got older. Although this caring side is inside of her Kay rarely shows it, and instead chooses to keep a cold demeanour, in her own way she feels it makes her a better and more efficient doctor.

Prompt Response:

Kay shook her head as another crewman was brought to her; when would these boys would learn how to raid a place properly. She yellow eyes down towards the dog who was in obvious pain, shaking her head again she looked around for something she could use as a splint, unfortunately for him others had already come back injured tonight and she had used up a lot of her supplies she had for broken bones.

At a closer look to the break, Kay realized it wasn’t too bad, it wouldn’t take much to splint and set it, the reason the poor dog was in so much pain was because of where the break was located, in the part of the leg that held most of his weight when walking. Ignoring the dog’s yelps of pain, Kay quickly snapped the bone back into place. Turning towards her supplies, Kay got a branch that was about the right size and placed it next to the dog’s leg, then using sapling branches she tied it to the leg. For now this would keep the dog from bending his leg at all, and causing the bone to pop back out of place.

Next Kay gathered some bark and sap, using this combination she was able to create a sort of cast that the dog’s leg would remain in to heal. No more raids for him not for a little while anyway. Ensuring the dog was settled in his bed, Kay went to work caring for the other injured dogs in her care, it would be a long night for her, but she would enjoy every minute of it.

Entry for Quartermaster

Name: Asherah 'she who walks in the sea'
Gender: Female
Breed/Species: Collie

Personality: She is harsh but, forgiving. Others know not to mess with this collie only because of her shows. She isn't afraid to make an example of someone and thus has quite a few scarred up crew mates. Her own body is fairly marred by fights with the others here, on her adventure here and from home. Deep down she'd rather solve everything by voice. When it comes down to it she is seen as a brute no matter what.

Prompt Response: Flashes of her farm land appeared into her mind as she gazes upon the steadily growing crowd before her. Sheep, just like darned sheep. They herded themselves though and weren't very good at listening. Stubborn as mules in fact. She let's go a high pitch, angry and violent storm of a howl. Which left the group in a pin-drop silence. All eye's were on her now. Most with a heart-wrenching fear, the two newer members were gazing upon her in defiance. Why should they listen to her? Well if they didn't they'd learn fast.

They chose number two. The starter of the fight gazed at the collie in a slight, sudden hunger. "Well pretty lass, what can we do for yah?" He asked, she assumed he was politely telling her screw off, especially when his tone ended in a try sort of 'what the hell do you want' way. She didn't take to kindly to men treating her like a dainty little lady, not when she was on the job. "Well.." She started, a flash of anger pulsing across her eye's, her tail raises in a dominant fashion above the new member's and then she continued. "You can start by telling me what's going on here." He obviously hadn't realized who he was talking to and by this time she watched a few dogs and cats stalk off not wanting to stick around for what they knew was coming.

In moments only one new member was left. The other had been smartly dragged away by his friend whom had quickly told him, when he got his voice back, that she was the Quartermaster. The other member stuck around with a few others who wanted to stick around for the fight. "Well.. we was just talking ya`see." He had semi-begun. This wasn't explained enough. Not to Asher. "What was that? Were you gonna fight?" Her voice was low and deepening into a growl. She was displeased with this fool. Acting as if she were just some throw away female. Her questions were simple and needed obvious answers that he just wasn't giving. "Were you or weren't you?" Silence. She growls deeply and takes a n** at his maw leaving a small mark.

She could hear his anger bubble up into a growl of his own. She'd have none of that and bit again. Another bite mark sliced cleanly into his maw. Another lack of answer and her temper would be burnt. "Were--" She was cut off. "Yes. We were going to fight." His words had cleaned up and he'd given a straight answer, even if it took blood dripping down his face.

With this answer she stared at him. "Now you could've saved yourself a face." She mutters. "Answer more quickly. And realize right now. You maybe marooned for A: Quarreling with a crew mate and B: Disobeying your Quartermaster. This will be brought up with the Captain. For now you remain here, where you can be monitored, the other dog involved with be tracked down." Her words were spoken in a mighty tone, all anger and ferocity gone from it. She didn't need it all the time.

With that she took to finding her Captain to discuss the matter of the individuals.
