((I apologize for the massive post. xD Big italics part for the vision.))
Zestyrr'une flatly watched as if in slow motion as the baby reached for her. The father's words had reached her ears as through the long din and confusion of a tunnel. The seer's mind was already beginning to focus on another reality. Zestyrr'une opened the bottle and blew quickly across its neck and then sat it directly in front of her at arm's length. The dust, this blend tinted a pale blue-violet, very slowly begin to flow upwards. It would take it a few minutes to fully develop. She reached out to take the baby while the air was still clear.
Ilmindia immediately had started grasping for and wriggling hands at all of the seer's ornaments. One arm was now supporting the baby on her lap. With the other arm, Zestyrr'une turned one wrist over to cause the ornaments which hung from her hand to slide and dangle for the baby. As the dust spread and shimmered in front of her, she watched the baby and wondered if the dust would calm his incessant curiosity.
Turning her eyes away from the child, the seer relaxed and her pale eyes went out of focus amongst the swirling cloud. A sweet soft smell filled her nose and she knew she had finally pushed herself into trance. She could vaguely feel air on her skin and nothing else. Her mind was no longer focused at all on the physical. Her eyes had begun to follow the patterns in the dust now and Zestyrr'une made her silent plea to the Goddess.
I beseech you Spider Goddess and praise you for all I have seen and all I will see. It is within your power to control my eyes...
And so she continued until her words to the Spider Goddess also faded away. Now the seer was left outside of her own mind and the dust began to violently stir. She could have visions without using the dust, but it was certainly her favorite way of working. For the others in the room, the enchanted cloud would still be soft and translucent. But for the seer, her mind looked deeply into it and was pleased to see Ilmindia.
The small child had grown. He appeared as a she. Whether that was all appearance or some permanent change, the seer could not discern. Quickly willing her mind to turn its eyes within the vision, Zestyrr'une tried to see a clue of where the child was. It didn't look familiar to her. She followed the child again. Ilmindia was walking quickly. In a hurry? In trouble? Leaving?
Zestyrr could tell from the reactions of the few drow whom the child passed that they thought of the child as female. And they were all looking similar.. a lot of mages in this building. Was Ilmindia at school then? Were they visitors?
She didn't have time to figure it out because suddenly the vision faded intermittently as it was prone to do. It wasn't over, but the dust was re-circulating itself. Something new was coming. The smell grew bitter and sharp and Zestyrr'une worried that something horrible was going to be revealed. A familiar blue aura filled her vision and the seer realized why she had the sudden feeling of apprehension. Her mind was reacting negatively to a surprise.
It was her sister! Ethequiri'zyl was seated in her office, face dark and unamused. Where was Ilmindia? The child was no where to be seen, but a slim male was cowering in the doorway. Ethe's temper flared and the drow slammed her fist on the desk. Zestyrr'une noticed how her office belongings strangely all seemed to be gone.
Her sister spoke to the waiting assistant, "Please inform the council that I will be vacating my office as requested."
So Ethe had gotten into trouble again. That was no surprise, but why was this relevant to the Barrith child? Zestyrr pressed her mind to delve further towards Ilmindia and away from Ethequiri'zyl but it stubbornly stuck with her sister.
"When you send correspondence to my Matron, however, tell her I am voluntarily leaving for a private assignment teaching Ilmindia Barrith. She doesn't need to know anything more than that. Dismissed."
As Ethe's office started to fade away, the vision broke up into shorter and shorter flashes. Zestyrr'une knew her vision was nearly over and her mind was being returned back to her normal state. The flashes gave her glimpses that confirmed Ethe's news. Ilmindia meeting Ethequiri'zyl. Ethe yelling at someone. Ilmindia showing off some small object to Mas. Flashes of Ethe and Ilmindia again and again all throughout the Barrith House.
The physical dust in the air started coming into focus for the seer and the vision vanished entirely. She stayed still and let her mind adjust to the feel of her own thoughts and body once more. Zestyrr blew into the dissipating dust cloud and the blue tint left the air, swirling downwards into its bottle. Some of the volume of dust was lost in the process of course, but not too much was left behind. Not enough to cause a visible mess or a pile at least.
Taking a deep breath, Zestyrr'une gave her voice a try, "Enchantress. Ilmindia must be, for Ethequiri'zyl," She could not help but hesitate before pronouncing the drow's last name, "Noquaniyl was shown to be her private tutor. Ethequiri'zyl is my sister yes, but foremost an enchantress. This child," Zestyrr'une smiled at the baby, "will surely have great talent because my sister has little patience otherwise. Everyone in the vision, I assume you will be pleased to know, treated Ilmindia as a female."

MasD'aun sat back and watched unconcerned as Zest took his child into her lap. Iiminidia, as seemed to be his defining trait, made no fuss over the transfer to a stranger. No. Instead the baby eagerly reached for the pretty dangling baubles that decorated Zest's wrist. His fat and unskilled fingers eagerly reached to touch and curl upon the metal decorations. Yet, as the dust would settle, Iiminidia's eyes would drift from the eye catching decorations and to the dust itself. His blue eyes watched the glitter in fascination as it sparkled so sharply against the darkness around it. MasD'aun surpressed a grim scowl as the baby released the dangling accessory, and reached a questing hand towards the dust in it's strange transluscence.
Mas could see nothing within the dust, though by it's very nature he knew something had to be happening. He watched it and the Seer with curious amounts of expectation. What was she going to see? Hopefully nothing that would mean him having to reconsider his plans too much! mas watched for what seemed a terribly short time. Zest stirred and for the moments that followed he felt that perhaps she had seen a short future for the child. Well, as long as he servefd his purpose that was all Mas cared about. he really had no interest in having two children after all. The more offspring one had the more one had to be prepared for some attempt at ascention from different angles.
Iilminidia's attention had remained captivated by the swirl of dust and it's luminouse glow. Though he had been unable to touch the dust, his fingers still splayed towards the bottle it had vanished into, and his blue eyes were utterly captivated. The babe paid no heed to the words that were spoken over him, ignorant was he of the importance they were to play in his life.
MasD'aun leaned forwards slightly as Zest began to speak. His own blue eyes were fixed on her sightless ones. A Enchantress? Excellent! Obviously his little son was to take after him! That gave Mas a bit of pride. Though his pride was short lived as Zest would speak of her own kin. Was this a attempt to dig deeper into Barrith's vaults? Her own sister as a teacher for the boy? Well...private lessons would avoid any unpleasent discoveries if Iilminidia was not exposed to so many uncontrolled elements and situations.
"Thank you Seer. Your vision has been undoubtably helpful. I shall see that Iiminidia is granted every encouragement to follow this path. I shall take into consideration your words concerning the private lessons by your sister as well. When my daughter comes of age I shall then seek her for this purpose." Mas eagerly spoke while he glanced down at the boy in her lap still. Iiminidia had, in the absence of the glittering dust, returned her gaze to the attractive baubles worn by the seer and motioned silently with his fingers and feet at the dangling distractions.
((Wow Caustic. Just..wow...that was a really great post. I am sorry it took so long for me to reply. part of it is cause I just did not feel any post i wrote even seemed worth posting after that. ^_^' ))

Zestyrr'une nodded at his thanks. "I would caution you, however. It is certainly possible that my sister may have been in my visions in order to emphasize the child's future as an enchantress."
She did not want to cast too much doubt on her report of the vision, but Zestyrr always thought it was a fair part of her employment to offer any alternative readings which she could see. It was plain to her that this was an important event in the child's life as well. Personally, the seer was thinking that Ethequiri'zyl's role as teacher in the vision was literal.
Meanwhile, Ilmindia was surely working his small fingers across Zestyrr's jewelry items. The seer disentangled the child from her jewelry items gently, lifting the curious child upwards towards his father. "Here is your daughter. Her future will be strong in Lolth's service."
Her visions often left her with more questions, and this was no different. Zestyrr'une could not resist the feeling of deep curiosity over the child's future. A male being raised as a female, and having to endure being in league with Ethequiri'zyl! That would not be boring at all.
Now all that Zestyrr'une needed to do was go find her other sister. Payment was needed, of course, but that matter was her sister's duty to oversee. And a priestess never forgets to take what she is owed, at the very least!
((Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! :0 Your post is fine, no worries! And I hope you feel better too<3))

Mas reached forwards and wrapped his fingers around Iiminidia's waist to accept her back from the Seer. The baby, despite having been denied the pretty sparkling things, still did not make any sort of fuss. Mas shifted Dia about to hold him against his chest, and he began to rise from the floor. As a second hand thought, he turned, and extended his free hand down to Zest in a offer to help her rise as well.
"I studied divination as a possible magical pursuit. While I am certain there are noteable differences between magical insight and Goddess given insight, I believe I am familar enough with the tricky insinuations that such visions can deliver." Mas gently nodded to the door. "Your services have been greatly appreciated Seer. I shall escort you back to your companion now."

Zestyrr'une was glad that the child went back with his father without any fuss. She didn't deal with children and outside of the trance they had shared inside the cloud of enchanted dust, Zestyrr was unsure of how to manage the baby. She reached out and took the offered hand to help her stand up.
The seer nodded politely before they went to the door, "Of course. Once she has taken payment I will be on our way. I would be pleased to hear of Ilmindia or offer my services to your House in the future." She hoped her words were well taken, although slightly confused. Their exchange had gone very smoothly. If there had been too much difficulty at any point, from the client or in the vision's clarity, Zestyrr'une would be hesitant to deal with them again. But the young child, for whatever reason, had facilitated a very strong vision.
Outside the room, Zestyrr'une's sister was pacing a few yards down the hall. She couldn't wait in the other room the whole time. It was all her patience could offer just to keep her from hovering right by the doorway. It had been quiet and that was usually a good sign during a vision. When the door finally moved, the priestess stopped her pacing and stood attentively.

Holding Iiminidia tucked in one arm, Mas helped Zest to her feet and escorted her towards the door. "I will admitt, I was not very certain about this whole vision seeking." mas would speak smoothly as they exited the room together. "Should it prove true in concern to my daughter I will greatly consider seeking your services on future matters as well. I have...many plans ahead of me that require a good deal of heavy consideration." As any drow he suspected. Mas paused and looked up as he spied Zest's sister in the hall.
"Ah? Was the wine not to your taste Lady? I do apologize. Was all in order concerning the payment?" Has she even looked at the chest? Well..Considering the Seer had gone off alone Mas supposed he could understand the anxiety. Seer's were quite the rareity after all and ever so special. Normally Mas hadheard that Seer's were snatched up by the priestesshood and guarded very jealousely. It did make him curious how Zest had managed to retain her basic freedom. Well..that hardly mattered. Mas released Zest from his escort, and nodded his silver haired head down the hall. "Do you desire my escort to the exit Seer?"
