XXX"Ha...ha..." I gasped for air as I stood in front of the bookstore. I was out of breath and thirsty for something to drink. I guess I'll stop by that cafe before heading back home.

"Hm..."
With the time programmed in my mp3 player, I dug through my pocket to glance at its screen.
'It's already noon,'I confirmed to myself in my head.
Once again, time always rushed right through me, and as always, I'd grown very depressed.
What more was I going to do with my life?
My parents couldn't afford for me to go to college, so the bookstore is all I have to look forward to every day.
At that moment, my windpipe seemed like it was shutting my airways, causing me to heave heavier breaths than usual.
When I'd grown overly emotional all at once, I seem to have a mini panic attack; my footsteps had then grown faster, forcing my body forward across the sidewalk.
I wanted to get back to the bookstore as quickly as possible now, to return to my sanctuary in literature.
'Please... I need to get back now; I've made the owner wait for her coffee for too long.'

XXXI stood up and looked around. I needed a rest and relaxation before heading back home. I thought to myself as I walked into the store and quickly rested onto the black leather couch. I was exhausted from the run and couldn't feel any better when I laid down. I felt so relaxed, I seemed to have...fallen asleep...

Entering the bookstore, I took in a deep and relieved breath.
Books were now all around me, and that's all I needed for comfort.
I walked steadily to the back to give the owner her coffee, she thanked me, and then I returned to the front of the store to retake my place behind the counter.
'I made it back before... I don't even know what might've happened.'
This thought intimidated me, causing me to grip at the edges of the counter and lowering my head, my body rocking back and forth.
"I have to calm down..." I told myself outloud.
No one was really around at this hour so I hoped no one could hear me, or at least I thought there was no one.

XXXThe darkness under my eyelids suddenly became bright as I regained my conciousness. Slowly opening my eyes, I stared at the ceiling. I gasped lightly as I sat up, finally recollecting my thoughts. "Crap I fell asleep." I muttered with my hand over my mouth.

With still no customers in the store, I used my time to catch up on a little reading myself.
As I had completely gathered myself, I placed my earphones back where they belonged and picked up a novel I usually referred back to.
'Usami, Akihiko... perhaps he's officially one of my favorites now.'
My fingertips brushed back a bit of hair from my temple, completely enveloped in the book now.
Every now and then, I chuckled to myself.
Perhaps it was only books that brought this side of me out now.

XXXI stood up and decided to look to see if my favorite author had released a new edition to his series of novels. Searching through the shelves, I had found a couple and grabbed them without a second thought. Skimming through it, I became excited. I became restless; I want to hurry home and read this. With that, I rushed to the counter and placed the books on the counter. "I'll take these, please!" I said, boasting with excitement.

'I still can't believe it was this easy to get out of that terrible mood earlier... now he's all happy-go-lucky?'
Snapping quickly back into reality, I answered him.
"Ah, we're going to my place. It'll probably be smaller than what you're used to since you are who you are and such."
Blinking, I then realized something else.
"Oh, I forgot to take out my mp3 from my jacket. It should still be there, and I don't mind if you look through it."
My voice remained monotone while we both talked and walked.
