Cold, damp, and dark corridors snake there way beneath the castle, housing the remains and such of the past occupants, as well as past meals. Off one dead end is where Annette keeps her medical supplies and stuff for experimenting. A solid wooden casket off to the side with a few candles for light.

Annette sighed as she descended down the stairs. Lucian was in his room, and the girl was still outside. She didn't seem all that interested with coming into the castle to begin with. She planned on going back out in a few moments to check the situation, and if it was that important to bring the girl in she'd drag her by her hair if it came down to it.

Reaching out in the dark, She found her way to where she'd be staying while she was here. She could see fine with the lack of light, so when she reached out for a box of matches, it was more for courtesy in case anyone came down.

"I pity you, you who looks only to the morrow. The morrow shall never come; do you not see it is forever out of reach? And I pity you, you who lives for the now...are you so satisfied with the now you cannot aspire to the morrow's fruits?" He'd chuckle a bit as his steel-toed boots would click against the old catacombs in rather slow intervals. When he'd come in to view he'd look as he always did, though his hands were sheathed in his trench pockets. "Annette...tell me, do you take his last name or keep to your own? Are you your dark daddy's little girl, or do you have some pride left?"

He'd remove one gloved hand from his pocket and place his fingers on the walls, a bit of a cross smile coming to his lips as he felt the cold stone. "It doesn't matter really. A name's just title to remember a face by. Besides, in my eyes you'll just be my little sister." His violet hues would shift to her as he'd finally just smirk. "Tell me something oh beloved daughter of the dark tyrant: Who the hell brought him back from the grave I so kindly dug for him our father?"

"I'd to first point out that your trespassing." she said tiredly, not even bothering to look up from what she was doing at an old wooden table against one of the walls. Books were strewn about, many looking as old as the castle, and many more as old as it's owner. "And in order for me to be your sister, we would actually have to share blood, which, thanks to simple biology, is impossible." she closed the book she was reading and finally turned to face him, standing in the same fluid motion.

Narcissa was either slacking on her guard duties, or the Morbido was asleep at his post, either or was enough to set her mind to finding a way to punish them for letting Kain in. "As for your last question, I'm none to sure myself. I was in France at the time I got my letter to return to the castle." She raised a brow as she remembered something from earlier. "As we are on the subject of questions and bring ones back from the dead, why is it you relocated your brothers grave?" she asked.

"One cannot trespass on what it theirs...and we're siblings, though of a different form." He'd chuckle a bit and look up to the ceiling, point to her, then look to her and back to the ceiling. "Would you like me to wake our father and have him explain? It has everything to do in the world with blood, though...but when you cease living while living, biology tends to...shift." He'd snicker a bit and look about before sighing, seeing nothing decent to sit on. He'd summon forth his own throne of ice, a direct replica of the one Vincent sat upon.

After sitting himself comfortably upon the ice, he'd let his fingers entwine in front of him as he'd listen to her and even laugh. "You claim we've no bond and yet ask something so personal? How very brave...but I'll tell you if only for the fact that I rather enjoy having a living sibling. Or as close to living as I can get." He'd sigh and let his violet hues slide to the site of the arm of the chair, his fingers slowly tracing over it. "He died here, defending this castle even...but he didn't belong here, nor should he ever have come to rest here. In my absence his corpse was thrown in a hole in the forest...obviously it bothered me." He'd remove his flask, a sign the stories would begin. But hell, she'd asked for this.

"He was a lycan, like that idiotic thing prowling these woods. It's easy to slip by such things when one uses a means of travel in which point A and point B are put back to back, particularly travel through pocket dimensions. On this side note, don't think too highly of that eccentric little oriental fellow above...a human can only do so much; sense so much and see so much...it's like hacking a computer, in a sense. He's a standard-issue firewall and I'm a virus the likes the world has never seen...he'd never see me coming, much less detect me." He'd take a drink from his flask and sigh.

"Back to my little explanation...my lycan brother was a sadomasochist to his core, and though he could fight just as well as I...he didn't much care for it. He by no means shied from fights, but rather...they bored him. In the end he just wanted a peaceful life. Hm...he always went on about his dreams of some sort of peaceful country life amidst a green valley, working on a farm with a family while literally eating the villains of the world at night. The shine in his eyes...the thought hurts. He found himself in the perfect location for himself on a mission given to us by Vincent...defend a shrine in Ireland. He stayed for so long...had a family. But in the end he was called back after twelve years thanks to Vincent's inability to keep from pissing off everything around him. I was called back as well, as were the other two dark lords of my time. The bastards were prepared, though. He killed hundreds of them, fighting through the pain of silver pikes and arrows. He died to keep them from entering the castle, allowing me enough time to put up proper defenses and summon what I needed to. When I found Ishado, Vincent so valiantly explained that he fell in HIS name...and had him buried in a hole in the forest!" And he'd then drink from the flask once more...a LOT more...

"To save myself another story-telling session, that was the moment I struck down Vincent. Stakes, holy water, crosses, fire, sunlight...I used it all to make the b*****d suffer and make sure that he'd never rise from that ash. Sadly, there were quite a few still loyal to him...namely the whole damn army and I was just a wee bit less powerful back then. Thus, I ran for my life. Centuries later I come to find someone's gone and just placed him back in the world all nilly-willy and that's just not right. I'd decided that I had more then enough power to defend myself and a grave, thus I was able to bury my brother in a proper place before Vincent, his goons and all of Romania could further spit upon my brother's image. I'd of buried him in Ireland if I didn't think this whole world was going to go the way of everything else I don't like." More drinking.

A long while later he'd still be drinking and in the end he'd toss the flask across the room, allowing limitless amounts of blood to spill out onto the ground. "A sad day has come as even that, the most pure blood one could ask for is just...bland. I've told you stories, so now you're going to tell me one: Why the hell did you let this tyrant turn you?"

Annette watched with a bit of interest as Kain gave his story, staying quiet as he spoke. As the flask was thrown, she'd watch it land and begin to spill out. 'He hates him, and yet still acts just like him half the time.' her eyes would slide back to look at him as he asked her his question, and teh corners of her lips would twitch showing the hint of a smile. "I didn't, though I didn't mind it after I found out what he'd done either." she explained.

"I was suppose to be beheaded for killing a priest, instead I was killed and brought back into what priest decided I was anyway. Evil incarnate." She shrugged. "I find some kind of poetic justice in that." She moved and started cleaning off the table, stacking her medical books and books on necromancy so they were in some sort of order. "I doubt the reason your here was to ask silly questions, and since I don't know who brought our father back, I guess I should ask if there's any more questions?"

"Poetic justice? Hmhm, I like that." He'd chuckle a bit, his awkward anger ceasing just a bit. He'd press himself against the frozen throne as much as he possibly could, trying to make himself even colder then he already was via his constant aura. "So you were an innocent caught up in the conspiracies of the church? Hm. Well, for that you have my sincerest sympathies."

He'd rise from the chair and dismiss it by shattering it into millions of ice crystals that would slowly come to form a silhouette around him. He'd look to the flask and shake his head, merely straightening his coat rather then retrieve the flask. "You have my apologies for the intrusion as well, though I'm not one to not have his way. It's a curse, really. I merely thought the dark daughter under Vincent might have known why he's breathing once more...and to be honest, I wanted to meet my new sister face to face. Suffice to say I am not disappointed. As a token of my apologies, take that flask...it's imbued with a magic that refills it with virgin blood. I've had it since I first came here...I believe it'll help you with your cravings. I doubt Vincent would appreciate it if you went about feeding on his loyal pawns."

As he'd ready himself to leave, he'd think back on her words for a moment and sigh. "Evil incarnate...once upon a time that title was so appealing I myself died for it, as did our father at some point." He'd look to Annette, his eyes full of sorrow of all things. "Just remember: Gray has several shades...life is so much better living in one of those thirteen zones. Black is so cold, empty...sickening. Don't define yourself by the Gift. I'd think you smarter then that." He'd issue a formal bow to her, right arm hooked under his torso and left behind his back before bending forward in a perfect ninety degree angle. Upon rising he'd disappear in a flurry of feathers, this time mixed. White, black, and an abundance of gray.

She waited for him to leave before moving to pick up teh flask, corking it and laying on the table. "I wonder if he knows there's actually 32 shades of gray." she said aloud. She then moved to retrieve a few feathers, one of each color and set them next to it. Oddly enough, it was some sort of comfort to her to know she was considered family by one other, even if she wasn't all that trusting of him. Still he hadn't done anything wrong, so for that she'd let this pass and move to her bed to get some rest.
