However spider infested the place might have been (Which, to the satisfaction of most the customers, there were usually no sign of (Wynona later figured they might have come in with the filth who was shoplifting from her workplace)), it seemed that out of wherever-in-god’s-name they were coming from, they were ending up on the poor woman.
One spider, while horrifying, was an unfortunate circumstance. Two? A terrible coincidence. But when more and more spiders began to drop onto the woman, her terrified shrieking had alerted the entire store (And mayhaps even some of the accompanying ones) that something was horribly, horribly wrong.
A smaller shriek could be heard as the girl, still wearing the dress from the store and day-old undergarments, was grabbed. She clawed at her captor with stubby fingers, but to no avail, in no time at all the girl had been stolen away to the front of the store, side by side with a bundle of clothes and yanked around by a rainbow-- the store was in utter chaos!
The other clerks didn’t know where to turn-- clearly Wynona was upset, but that the same time, a robbery was occurring, and even more complicated still it seemed like a kidnapping. Like beheaded chickens they scrambled around-- some calling for the managers, other’s trying to dial the police, and others still just gaping in wild disbelief that so many spiders were even in the building.
Darnit --Tepin thought as she felt another tug towards the door-- Now I will never get new panties!!

What the--!
Valeriu could only gape as Quinn fled the scene of the crime, sending spiders raining down upon the poor woman that was shrieking her head off.
He just, and then just-! And Tepin was still wearing the clothes, and his clothes were there, and these shorts still weren't buttoned--
Hurriedly he fastened the button; for a split second, he was torn. Run after Quinn? Run away?
The poor lady was still screaming.
He couldn't do it. Valeriu wasn't exactly a stranger to stealing (his budget never would've covered the renovations), but this wasn't right. He couldn't just leave.
Sighing, he wished Quinn had at least left him his sweatshirt before he'd gotten the hell out of dodge, walking over to the panicking woman and starting to brusquely brush the spiders off.
"I'm sorry, he ee's a little bit unhinged," he explained as calmly as he could, flicking a spider off her shoulder and pulling another out of her hair. Poor woman. They were pretty large spiders indeed.
He was going to strangle Quinn.
"I v'ill pay for the clothes. Here," he double-checked to see if he'd missed any of the little insects, gently patting her back to calm her down, "I think that ee's the last of them. Does your store prefer cash or credit, miss?"
Going to strangle him so hard. What was that boy thinking? You couldn't just do stuff like this! Couldn't make poor girls and women cry, couldn't blatantly steal from a store, couldn't use your powers like that, couldn't just run away from a confrontation.
It was wrong.

Once outside, he set Tepin down on the sidewalk. "Now, Vale will probably pay for everything, now, and he'll be outside in a minute." He smiled cheerfully. No harm done! And he had gotten that lady back GOOD. He resisted the urge to fist-pump proudly.
"See, Little Girl, Vale tends to do The Right Thing, which gets him into trouble more often than not. In this case, however, it'll get me into trouble more than not. So, as soon as he exits the store, he will probably be yelling. At me. Be prepared for that." He paused. "Also, cute dress." He hazarded a complement.
He really was trying to be nicer. Maybe it would help.
He doubted it.
"And, you didn't get any new panties, did you? Probably not, Vale's afraid of touching them. Well, that's what our next stop is for. They have some really nice clothes in there. I bet they'll have panties with kittens on them. You like cats, right? Yah. You like cats." He scratched the back of his neck.
"Any minute now, he'll come out of there yelling at me. Or worse," he shivered, "He'll be Dissapointed. That's even less fun. Then he'll just ignore me." Quinn nodded sagely, after imparting all of this wisdom.
"Any minute now."

She stared wide eyed at the store entry, waiting for someone to run out and scream, berate, and beat them. However, it seemed that Varu had really quelled the situation. No one was coming.
Which, on the bright side, also meant that Varu wasn’t coming. She would have precious moments to speak her mind before having the be chained back as a good and smiling girl.
“It’s your fault!” She glared at him from the side of her eye, arms crossed in agitation, “You’re the reason he’s in there-- probably getting yelled at-- and yet you're sitting out here!!”
She couldn’t believe this! He wasn’t a man at all! Men stood up and dealt with their problems, rather than pushing them on others. They didn’t run away, letting the adults deal with the situation as they made small talk outside of the danger. Even he understood that what he did was wrong-- no way he didn't after what he had told her.
She didn’t want to go anywhere else, she simply wanted to run back home-- well, Varu’s home-- and hide. Maybe then she could forget about the horrible, horrible things that had happened today. She didn’t want anymore clothes, or panties, or kitties, or anything like that.
No-- standing here wasn’t going to help. By being out here, she made herself equal with Quinn. And really, honestly, she wanted to be with Varu, if she had the choice. So, pushing the door open with an outstretched hand, she braved one last look at Quinn before entering the store once more.
It seemed that with the spiders scared off, and the merchandise being rung up, everyone was finally calming from their one big story for the day. They would go home and tell their families about the strange thing that had happened at work today.
Wynona remained trembling-- she had been terrified beyond her wits, and naturally would request the rest of day off in order to recuperate. The men seemed to understand-- girls were weak, while the other women scowled at her-- it was only a few bugs!
Still, that strong, wild looking man had helped her. Her heart was all a flutter and her head felt dizzy. She wished that she could spend even more time with him-- but no! She was but a lowly dressing room clerk. Dejectedly, she informed him that if he went to the front counter, Marco could kindly ring him up with either cash or credit at his convenience.
And so, having rushed herself to the bathroom to fix herself up (Should the man try to stay around to “apologize” further), poor Miss Wynona had exited the scene…. For now.
Tepin, however, had only begun to enter at this point. Quickly, she spotted Vale, rushing to meet him by his side. E-even if he was naked, this was the least she could do. She couldn’t give speeches like Varu, or predict the future like Quinn, all she could do was stand there. But at least she could stand by someone’s side, and try to make them happy.
“He…” She refused to look at him-- if she looked, she might suddenly lose her empathy that the boy‘s prediction had earned her, “…Says he’s sorry for all this.”

He sighed, disaster averted, sliding the credit card back into his wallet.
Really, sometimes Quinn could just be too much.
His ears pricked up at the sound of Tepin re-joining him, looking down curiously at the girl when he heard her words.
Smiling, he slung the plastic bag he'd been given onto his shoulder, crouching down to ruffle her hair.
"You are a sweet girl, Tepin, and very kind. But I know he ee's not." Hefting her back into his arms once more, he made his way out of the store, tail swishing along behind him. "I have the rest of the things v'e had to get-" -even the unmentionables, and he was not going to mention them, just hand her bag to her and hope she does not bring it up- "-so let us go home, da?"
Stopping in front of Quinn, he held his free arm out for his stolen sweatshirt with an inscrutable look - something carefully neutral on his normally expressive face, and something that was far sadder.
Quinn was beyond the doghouse.
"May I have my sweatshirt back, Quinn? I think ee't ee's time v'e be getting home."
And he did not want a repeat of store-woman.

Quinn silently pulled the sweatshirt from the clothes he had scooped up, and handed it to Vale. Then he took Vale's other pants, and handed them to him. And then he took the sweatshirt Vale had given him earlier and handed that to him, too, till his hands were empty.
Then tears started welling up in his eyes.
"There. I didn't want those stupid shorts anyway. Green's a stupid color anyway. And I don't even really like athletic shorts." He turned away from Vale. "I'm going home." And started running. "This is all HER FAULT!" He screamed to no one in particular as he ran off from them, a bolt of lightning arcing from him to a nearby trashcan with a loud banging noise.
As soon as he rounded the corner away from them, he ducked into the first alley and slumped against the wall behind a pile of cardboard boxes, hidden from the entrance of the alley. He cried a little bit more, then lifted his hand up and spread the tears out more evenly across his eyes and down his face, so they looked more dramatic.
He grinned.
Fake tears were wonderful things.
That girl was going to get what was coming to her, one of these days.
