I voted Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, because Glass Prison, and the finale, I would have to say Train of Thought second, followed by Systematic Chaos then by Octavarium.

I struggled for a long time to decide which album is my favorite. I appreciated different parts of all of them.
Then Systematic Chaos came out, and I fell in love with it. I've heard mixed reviews about it, but I don't mind. I connected with the album really strongly, and I hope DT can put out more stuff like that.

I've laways been partial to Images And Words. It lifts me up, and the musicianship is marvelous. Close in 2nd is Systematic Chaos, 'cause you gotta admit that In The Presence of Enemies (the collective piece) is a masterpiece.

Actually, I think it might be best to split them up based on the different keyboardists, because from what I have gathered, it would seem that each keyboardist gave the band a different sound; Kevin Moore's sound was very epic, very spacey, and very dramatic. Derek Sherinian's sound was very retro, also very spacey, but at the same time had a bit of a gentle sound to it.
Jordan Rudess is to Dream Theater as Rick Wakeman is to Yes. He's the most over-the-top keyboardist Dream Theater has ever had, and really succeeded in bringing out the Progressive in their sound. With the arrival of Jordan, their sound became twice as Progressive as it had been.
So, if I had to split it up, I'd say Awake, A Change of Seasons, and a tie between Octavarium and Systematic Chaos.
While A Change of Seasons isn't necessarily a full-length album, I add it in because of the title track, and because I would have no other choice but to pick Falling Into Infinity otherwise. razz
Plus, the live covers were fantastic. Especially the cover of Deep Purple's 'Perfect Strangers.'

*ahem* While we're talking about it, I think Systematic Chaos should be added to the poll. Obviously it wasnt added due to SC's 07 release, but now that we're in 08, I think it's time to put it up there... whee
