Definition: A mini-game in which you think of anything at all that makes you think of progressive rock/metal. Once we get to Z, feel free to start right back up with A. Feel free to post links, pictures, even music relating to your letter. I'll get the ball rolling...
A: Ayreon. The Human Equation is the most progressive album I've heard with instruments ranging from flutes to violins, from guitars to keyboards. From the lightest touch to the heaviest thrash.

B: Bill Bruford. Supposed to be one of the best progressive rock drummers. The most famous stuff he did was with Yes and King Crimson.

C:Close to the Edge
Album and song by Yes. I had to rack my brains to think of something for C, so I don't know much about it. I have heard it once before and the song Close to the Edge is over 20 minutes long, so it's a true progressive rock song biggrin .
I hope someone other than me posts for D, I hate having two posts in a row. Makes me feel like I'm talking to myself.

D: Dream Theater!!
Possibly one of the greater progressive rock/metal bands in existence. Through the last few decades Dream Theater maintained their own brand of unique and unparralleled form of music as well as portraying other bands very effectively through their outstanding musicianship. As they continued to develope further into their own, DT was deemed the poster child for the progressive aspect of music, bringing the genre closer to the mainstream of the entertainment. Though without being engulfed in the media frenzy of the MTV generation, DT strives for a newer and better sound with each and every album that they release, with countless fans awaiting patiently, and faithfully for the next great track.

Yay!
E:Erotomania. The only thing I could think of for E. Instrumental song from Dream Theaters Awake album, and the first of the 3 "A Mind Beside Itself" songs.

Falling into Infinity - Hate to flood this thread with DT stuff (lol no I don't xd ) but this is what instantly came to mind. Some love it while others hate it with passion. Personally, I love it. While it may not be what some prog fans expected of DT, it has a lot of different elements to it that make it unique. The best songs off of the album, to me, are New Millenium, Hells Kitchen/Lines in the Sand, and Trial of Tears. I didn't use to like all the songs on the album, but I gradually came to like each one. Oh, and the B Side for this album (one of them) Speak To Me would've been my favorite, had it made the album.

G: Geddy Lee Bassist, vocalist, and keyboardist for the canadian prog trio Rush. Infamous for his complex but catchy basslines, and the frontman live.

H:Hollow Years. Dream Theater song from the Falling into Infinity album. A nice slower song with mostly acoustic guitars if i remember right.
I don't like having to resort to Dream Theater stuff again, but I couldn't think of anything else and I haven't posted for ages.
