Ok i need some help on somethings. For the one with no color the problem i had is drawing these types of bangs from the side. I dont know why he just seems bald to me. I dont know if they are to far back or if they are to far foward. The picture in color is just their for a reference to see what it looks like from the front.

well, Bangs aren't really that hard, it's just how the face is placed and then the style of hair, If you need help maybe i could send you an example of what i'm talking about?

I like your art, it's good and it's clean. I'm an anime artist too, and i'm sorta over the who "hair" issue personally, now i'm onto the "body proportions" issue.. ^^;

well i have mostly everything down in proprtions. But Im just having problems with these types of bangs. Everytime i draw them they seem wrong

as it is, i think you have it down more or less, when shouting though, hair tends to "Fluf" or "spike" out, kinda like a cat's fur when scared. You could maybe place a hair or two between the bangs on profile veiws.

Maybe you should place them a little lower. But I'm not sure unless I actually try drawing them.

They look all...solid. Try and separate the hair a little bit?
But first things first, why don't you work on you face shape a bit?

I had made up a study of bangs.. let me see if I can find it. biggrin

its not perfect .. and its kind of ..
more about hair lines .. but I think that is part of your issue as well.

Your hair line in the center of the face is at its highest point. So this is were the hair from your bangs should split, but not down wards.. but Up and then swings down like shown it is popular in manga to have hair like this. It like an uber cowlick, and having a bit of a major cowlick my self on both sides of my face I know what they look like when they come forward from being combed.. they go up and then swing down. This also gives the characters hair buoyancy.. and volume instead of limp, flat, and dead looking.. when creating hair. try using a series of light strokes also to get a more natural hair look (not required). You can also make the cowlicks smaller in height.. Hair can take a bit to master.

well wen i look at ur avi first of all it looks like one bang is bigger then the other one [left is smaller]
plust the right one looks a bit bigger and fluffier if u get wat im saying. well my moto is practice makes perfect...or almost perfect lol mrgreen
another thing u can try is lowering or highering the hair line [lowering might be best for u] to make the illusion of the person looking bald go away a bit.
well thats it from me for now about the hair. ask if u need anymore help :] and maybe wat u did with the sinister scarf might help, just stare at it long enough and get the curves just right
