This evening I did a short meditation to send some positive energy to some folks who were in need of it. This is one that I hadn't tried in a few years, and before, something hadn't seemed quite right, so this time I approached it a little differently. The meditation used to start in a blank white hallway, but this time I started in a different location.
I walked into the Sunday School building of the church I grew up in and went down the hall to my mother's classroom. I have helped her lead summer activities in this room, and it is also where we had our girl scout meetings when I was in elementary school. The room was just as it is in real life, and I walked over to the closet, which has a central air unit inside, and instead of going into the air unit, I went to my special room. The special room looked just the same as it always had - rich mahogany shelves and a dark foresty green colour to the carpet and walls, and decorative boxes all around, and a window looking out at an obsidian sky full of stars. The only difference was that this time, there was a large leather armchair in the center of the room.
I sat in the chair and one of the boxes dematerialised from the shelf and reconstructed in my hands. I opened the box and coloured "vibes" appeared one by one until I was finished sending them out (I only needed three this time). The "vibes" always look like ribbon candy and pulsate with glowing energy. I send them out the window to whomever is in need of them. When I finished, I sent the box back to the shelf and exited the special realm, back into my mother's classroom.
When I went back into the classroom, I felt a presence that was not there on my way into the building. This seemed odd, a presence in MY imagination, while I was fully awake, that I didn't put there? The presence was persistent and on my way out of the building I came to notice that it was a small, silent little boy of about four or five that was smiling broadly and holding my hand. We went out into the church yard and climbed the tree (I spent my childhood in the tree as did all the others who grew up in that church). My mind was starting to wander, so I asked him if it would be okay for me to leave and come visit him later, and he nodded vigorously. I gave him a hug and came back to reality.
Does this sound like my inner child, or more like a guide? I have never experienced anything quite like this in my own imagination before, so I'm rather curious for some outside opinions from experienced folks!

That is good that you altered the setting. Meditations that are offered through books, tapes, or by another person don't necessarily have to be followed exactly. So definately if it doesn't feel right, change it to something comfortable.
As to the little boy, I don't know. It might require a couple of play dates with him to find out. I was thinking I would describe the similarities and differences of energies of the guides and the inner child when compared to yourself. But I'm going to let you describe how you felt around him and if you were able to sense any vibes (energy feelings) from him...that way I don't influence your thoughts and alter your perceptions.

Hmmmmm. Well, it seemed like he had really shy, but absolutely joyful vibes coming off him. I tried again before I went to sleep, but I got really tired, so I laid down on a bed in the corner of the room (I think it was always there, but that half of the room was always shadowed before), and he pulled out a trundle bed from underneath and went to sleep on that bed. I heard him speak once before I fell asleep, but I was so tired that I forgot what he said. It was a very childlike, undeveloped style of speech as I remember, and I think that he had been pointing something out that he saw in the room... but I can't remember specifics.

I've tried to do this meditation a few times since the last post, but the main problem is that by the time I actually have a few minutes to do this, I'm usually exhausted, OR there's a lot of noise distracting me. I found a few quiet minutes this afternoon and tried again.
I have a hard time visualizing when I try to meditate, and I often find myself mentally dictating what I should be seeing or feeling. After describing myself into the right place, I was doing a pretty good job of seeing the scenery. I was back at the church, and this time I felt compelled to go into the "meditation garden" in the back instead of going straight to my little room. I went back there and briefly recalled sitting at one of the tables with my mom on Easter. Suddenly a tall shadowy figure appeared next to the table. Then a few seconds later everything went black and I lost the meditation. I couldn't tell if the figure was wearing black robes or if it was just literally a large, opaque shadow. He/she didn't say anything, OR do anything... just stood there. And then everything was black; I just saw the insides of my eyelids. I tried to determine if I felt any particular way about the figure, but I didn't have time. All I felt was a bit of "Huh?" when it appeared.
This was new. I was hoping to see the child again and maybe get a clue as to whom he is.. I am just not sure if these experiences actually mean anything or if it's just my imagination playing with me. I'm afraid of falling prey to a sort of "Mr. Dark" fantasy, if you know what that is.
