my friend told me the other day that i should be in band (for real) next year. i don't play an instrument, but played flute in 5th grade (for about a month). now i want to play again. do you think it's a good idea?

ya, flutes are great, and they help your hand eye coordination, and they make really pretty sound

I think playing the flute is a wonderful idea. But then again, I play flute so therefore my opinon is biased on that fact.
But overall, joining band is great. Being in a music program, I've heard, really helps you 'click' with math, because you're working the same part of the brain or something. I'm not entirely sure about that, but I know there's some connection with music and math.
