well i have a small puffer tank (3 gallons with dwarf puffers) and a big betta/gourami tank (55 gallons) and im plotting a med tank (20 gallon long)
i initially REALLY wanted a kenyan sand boa but my mom would s**t a brick if i brought a snake home (or a tarantula, long skinny lizard, hamster, gerbil, hissing roach...)
SO since dart frogs require too much stuff and leopard geckos do very little of anything i was thinking of filling the 20 long a little more than halfway, slapping a light on it, planting it heavily and just keeping a pair of albino paradise fish (who will hopefully breed)
there are black paradise fish but i didnt find the ones i saw to be very pretty a red one would be ideal but i cant ever find any (all i find are blue, albino, and black(
i was REALLY feeling humpback limia but i never have seen them for sale before D:
i really wanted this to be a tank for breeding something so any other suggestions would be cool :3 (no mollies, platys, swordtails or guppies though) it has to be something fairly easy to care for and that can do decently without some kind of insane filtration or heating
and no saltwater...i want this to be low maintenance low technology and i plan on doing my extra 30 gallon into a zooanthid garden when i have the space

Happy Skittles Lizzy thats a very handy dandy site there : O but sadly they did not have the uber spifftastic paradise fish If i were in your shoes i would keep checkin that site and contact each fish store in your area with a special order request. Maybe you can contact the big wholesalers to see if they have the fish and can point you to the individual stores in your area that buys from them. Here are some big wholesalers. http://www.nautilusmarinewholesale.com/http://segrestfarms.com/walmart uses these guys, their prices are pretty cheap and they sometimes have good quality fish http://www.heavenlyfish.com/ (walmarts lack of knowledge and crappy setups are what make the fish sick.

I agree some stores do special orders, even on fish, and finding the wholesalers works i had a friend who did that with all his fish , he said it wasnt to bad

i dont know where the limia is from sad and no luck on the fish i'd like
my bf and i are plotting a low maintenance saltwater tank just with a power head, heater, and metal halide.
it will only be zoo polyps, snails, and maybe a fish or two (probably a pair of damsels)
we are going to try and utilize the awesomeness that is biological filtration by building a plenum (a stagnant pocket of water where low oxygen bacteria can grow that remove nitrates) and having plenty of live rock.
if done right this should be a VERY easy to care for plant with just a little food here and there for the fish. im still not 100% sure but it looks like it may actually work. :3
