~March 1, AL 109~ || Only those intending to join may vote. That means I should have no more than 5 votes before this is all said and done. PLEASE abide by this, it makes Nikkei's life easier.Alright, this is how this is going to work. Nikkei actually has a deck of cards with her. She will deal out Cards and such as the game goes and post in OOC what she comes up with. After the first Hand if someone else wants to be dealer tell me, for now I'll have Calla as dealer. We'll start when we have at least three people join, but I would like to have four or Five at most. Choose a game in the poll and whichever has the most votes wins, but if none has more then the other we Default to Blackjack. THAR WILL BE GAMBLING! As such I figured I should add the information Starr gave me. 1. There is no paper money, only coins 2. Pennies are pretty much equal to 1 Dollar and 1 Dollar equal to 100 Dollars 3. WolfRiders are payed $2 A month (So like $200 a month) in Dollars or Half-Dollars. Current Dealer: Calla Bianchi Current Game: Bullshit|| SilverStarrSapphire The following information was added into The New World thread in the main guild forum: "Normal US coins are used as the main form of currency, which includes only the following types of coins: penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar, and dollar. Paper money is not durable and most have been destroyed by the war or natural elements; paper money is not worth anything except maybe to an antique collector. But since coins are the only currency, one cent is the equivalent of one dollar from pre-WWIII, so any civilian could survive on 20-50 cents a week (wolfriders receive 200 cents a month for salary). However, most City residents that produce materials trade their goods rather than use currency, but the value of the goods is still determined by how much they would cost in coins."

Calla settled down at the table, shuffling up the cards in her hands. She was the first here, that she had known would happen, and she had sent out invites to certain people but anyone passing by was free to join so long as it didn’t get to hectic. It was the end of February, soon Spring would be on them entirely and their time of relaxation would be over, replaced by drills and battle. They could celebrate and relax a little bit while they could, and that was why she had decided to set this up. She’d posted up a flyer a few days ago in the door to the mess hall and given invites to her superiors and Alister, along with explicit instructions to bring at least a months worth of pay. If the invitees actually showed up that would be great, but she would understand if her superiors were busy, there was always a lot to do before Spring. But she hadn’t exactly left Alister with a choice. Finally happy with the shuffled deck she set it down and dug through her pockets for her own coins, she had divided up her pay into Quarters for today and laid them out on the table in front of her. Last months pay, and she had every intention to walk away with more than she had brought in. Calla loved card games, dice games, games of chance and analysis. It helped that she could read people so easily, it took a good poker face to beat her. With a smirk she settled down to wait, this afternoon was certain to be entertaining indeed.

Riya hated playing card games because she had the worst luck when it came to... anything, really. Everything she ever accomplished had always been by her own power, except maybe becoming Lieutenant since that was all Stardust's doing, but she liked to think that she at least earned her current Captain position. That and she hated gambling because it was pointless and a total waste of her money... not that she had anything to do with the money since she wasn't a very materialistic person. Although Stardust was still trying to convince her to buy a sheepskin rug for the Den, but that was unlikely to happen as she would be the one who'd have to clean the blasted thing.
So why was Riya making her way through the hall towards the room where this little game of cards was taking place? Because Damien had dared her into it, and pride demanded that she not refuse to do something that Damien did on a daily basis (or so she'd heard). And if she had to kill herself, she'd win this card game just to show Damien that she had better luck... which she didn't, but that wasn't the point. But the first wolf be damned if she backed down from Damien's challenge.
Walking into the lounge with a neutral face, Riya nodded at Calla before taking a seat across from the older woman. Let the games begin.

Monica saw Calla sitting at a table with another girl, Riya. She hadn't been too social lately, and knew this was a perfect opportunity. She walked over a bit anxious.
"Hey guys," she said, smiling warmly. She looked at the table and saw Calla had some cards. Playing a card game? She hadn't played card games in years, since she was small and she would play with her brother, Chris. "Could I join you?" she asked.
She wasn't all that great at cards, but she was willing to try, of course.
[[Sorry for such a short post D:]]

Abigail slammed the door open and walked into the room. She was grinning like the cat who ate the canary, the various coins in her pocket jingling loudly in the mostly silent room. She had learned about the event through a poster on the door to the mess hall. Abigail lived a very simple life, not having much use for the money that she had. Her winter days went as follows: Get up, eat, train, attempt pathetically to read a book, give up, eat again, train some more, eat again, sleep. Because of this, most of her pay just accumulated in a jar hidden away underneath the couch, the majority of which were now crammed into her pockets.
As soon as Abby spotted Calla, she waved, greeted her loudly with something along the lines of "Howdy, gal! How ya been?" and took a seat directly to her right. She greeted Riya and the other Private more formally, saluting to Riya and nodding to Monica. Turning to her left, she asked impatiently, "So what's the game?"

If there was one thing Alister never bothered with was gambling. It wasn't to say he had problems with luck, it was more that he rarely found himself tempted to even humor such activities. The few times he'd played he'd won enough to placate Twilight with gifts to keep her mind off of the money he had lost. In truth he didn't have any use for money beyond books, and the occasional extra blanket or pillow to keep Twilight silent for a few weeks during the winter.
Slipping one hand into his pocket, he barely stifled a sigh. Had he a choice, he wouldn't have even considered this little gathering. Of course lately he'd found himself loosing even that much of a notion. The thought irritated him, and not for the first time he considered turning back and retreating to the relatively warm confines of his room and the waiting pile of new books. Of course it was too late considering his hand was already pushing the door open.
Taking a moment to scan the occupants of the room, Alister bit back a sigh. Was this to be a game or an execution? Drifting toward one of the empty chairs at the table, a tad too close to Calla for his liking, he merely gave a nod of acknowledgment to the others. From the looks of things...it might very well be both.

Derek wasn't sure how, he wasn't sure why, but somehow EmearldWind had tricked him into going outside. Something about changing his dollars to dimes and quarters to buy an expensive something or the other that he wanted. Since he only indulged Emerald, he traded in a few months pay, only to find out that he'd been generally fooled. Then to add insult to injury, the wolf physically barricaded the door and told him about some card game today in the lobby that he needed to play in. Great...
He knew most cards games around, so he wasn't worried about losing too much money. Strolling into the lounge, he took in the number of people there and cursed his luck for being the last one. Oh there was no way... Doubly cursing himself and his wolf, he walked up to the only avaiable seat left, between Calla and Alister. "Hello, everyone~" he spoke smoothly, trying not to twitch as he took his seat. Smirking slighty, he figured he might as well get into it if he was stuck with these two. "Let's do this thing, shall we?"
